he still has his fight in july, but assuming he wins that, he wants to fight glen johnson again

glen johnson said he would be happy to do it one more time and would like to get it done before the year is over according to

    boxingtalk.com

i would really hate to see roy lose to him again and further tarnish his legecy

Bet Roy wished he retired after the Ruiz fight.

No one would ever have mentioned Antonio Tarver, and Jones Jr. would go down as one of the alltime greats.

Of course, no one can deny he was an absolute genius right up until he made one of the most idiotic decisions in history, by relinquishing the Heavyweight title, and going back down to 175, to lose back-to-back against a relative no-name fighter.

Roy is going to be the new Tommy Hearns and fight until he is 50. If he is going to continue fighting he should focus on journeymen and try to obtain titles like the NABF, WWC, IBX.

    Ha!

Let's hope not, for Roy's sake. You don't want a once breath-taking fighter going out like that.

I doutb Roy's gonna be another Hearns.

Roy is fighting Ajamu to see where he stands. And Roy says if he loses, or doesn't win spectacular fashion he is going to retire because he'll know he wont be able to compete anymore.

That might be true but then again, after having a close first fight with Tarver,he should and must have realised that the magic was not there anymore. The losses afterwards should have nailed that point so we should not be discussing RJJ fighting this Prince dude.To be honest, even though RJJ is is in my greatest fighters ever list and I love the guy,the third fight against was a travesty,a pathetic a perfomrance as I have ever seen from a professional boxer,I mean I am sure there was a round he did not throw and there were few rounds he was in double figures!! Give it up RJJ,just let i go like Bernard.

many. But I think the whole dilemma was that he didn't want to get stopped. AS he showed in the middle rounds, he could make Tarver look like he was nothing and using that uppercut when Tarver tried to bully him. But I think the whole thing is that Roy had the wrong mentality to go in their with, I don't think he walked in just to go the distance. He went in to be competitive..but the thing is I think he was more happy that when Tarver nailed him with that right hook that he didn't knock him out, that he needed to get his confidence back. because really, that right hook may have ko'd anyone else.

Personally I think that GJ is on the slide, if he did fight Jones then the looser's career would be well and truely over... all or nothing for both of them and GJ will want to go out on top.

Would be a good fight, no doubt... if Roy sorts his head out.

The sad thing is,had he gone in with the right mentality,he could have koed Tarver who as bad as RJJ was,Tarver was even worse. See when McGirt told him to let his hands go and he threw for about 30 seconds, then early had a heart attack?!?!RJJ could have koed him then and there, heck I though Tarver was going to fall down himself. Also, going into a fight just to survive is ridiculous, one should be in there to win!!You want to just survive,do it somewhere else!

I don't think Roy went in with the mentality to survive, he went into survival mode when he was on dream street in the 11th round. but Roy got through it and won the 12th but I think he should have went to Tarver's body instead of headhunting.
