That will be the same people saying that the fight wasn't a robbery & the same people saying that punch stats don't mean shit.

Not me. I was pulling for Winky to win, but my predictions suck. I am about 1 for 20 in the last year and that one I got right was McBride over Tyson because after the Wlliams fight I knew Tyson didn't have it in his heart any more to be a fighter any more.

Taylor threw the harder shots and he landed a lot more than what punch stats stated. Winky Wright however does not have a weak chin. He took a beating like a champ, even though i think Taylor won.

Taylor threw the harder shots...but they did not connect at the percentage that Wright's did.

    You do get that...right?

Uhh...what beating? No there was no beating on either side. No way. Here's my thoughts on the punch track from another thread.

I don't even think it's accurate, it must count deflected punches that grazed the face. Winky landed flush with almost all of his landed punches, no way did Taylor land more then 20 punches flush that entire fight. I just don't get it. I really don't get it. I mean...it was a close fight but at the same time it wasn't. Round wise it was fairly close, even though Wright won clearly imo but how did he not get that decision? He deserved that decision. It wa his fight. He was there to lose the fight, and he lost some rounds by staying flatfooted but he won the fight. He got caught through the middle a few times, nothing major, he was so crisp with his punches. He won the fight. Winky knows he won the fight. We all should. I mean...it wasn't even hard to score imo. I just saw the ESPN highlights of the fight, it shows Taylor's big combo of the fight...every single punch, EVERY single punch landed on the gloves. All of them. It stopped Winky from coming forward but no way in hell did it hurt him. I love Taylor more and more each fight. He did himself good this fight imo. He looked pretty good, but just to green imo. But he got the generous decision. It was entirely to reminiscent of the Vargas fight. Damn it.

And a lot of those body shots hit the elbows. A lot of them.

People - judges, commentators, writers, fans alike - need to learn the difference between a big combination or a big combination that doesn't land and does nothing but temporarily freeze your opponent. Taylor's high spots were of the latter variety. Wright was so sharp, and Taylor wasn't. It's as simple as that.

i agree winky must have won by UD...

but guys, punch stats just counts round by round not the whole fight...
remember the scoring in boxing is by round...
so one winky hater out there may throw the idea
that winky might have thrown those punches in limited rounds..

and also remember that one punch can change the judges decision on who won the round..
so it means that even if you only threw 12 punches, each at the end of each round and it wobbled the opponent, the judges might give every round to end up in a 120-108 UD...

im not saying taylor did this and won the fight, HELL NO!!!
but the total punches stats is a wrong idea to back up our boy winky because

    Nice posting, Amat

Having just watched the fight again, I agree completely. Winky WON that fight. Taylor looks busier but those punches are not landing as frequently as Winky is. the punches are hitting or deflecting the gloves. Winky meanwhile was able to get Jermaine onto the ropes repeatedly and get off beautiful shots to the body and head....Taylor had his moments and he does win rounds, but Winky wins more of them IMO...

WTF the difference is Taylor was landing harder shots, and Winky was landing alot of shots just to land alot of shots he wasn't putting all his power behind them... it was an even fight IMO, and Bernard would have given WInky alot of trouble.

cant you guys just admit that the fight was good?

i mean shit....its not like neither fighter loses anything.

and by the way...those shots landed for winky include all those pitter patter jabs he through...and those only landed because taylor kept his left low alllll night...taylor didn't even looked like he cared if winky hit him.

taylors power was what gave him the rounds he won....even with winkys guard up u could see some getting through and winky was getting tagged in the body as well as the head

to say EITHER fighter CLEARLY won the fight is retarded...imo the judges got it right....taylor winning by a round...or another view of winky winning by a round. and a 114-114

    stop crying....
