Amir still refuses to defend himself on the way in and on the way out. He does a great job of getting his hands up when he's out of range though

    Predictable.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Fight was pointless imo. If a guy turns pro with the amateur experience of Amir he should have a steeper learning curve than what he's had so far, or at least a curve at all. I'm all up for padding out a record, in my opinion professional ring experience is the most important thing for a boxer to have- but if he's fighting at this level imo he should be doing things like making more noticable improvements and he should be fighting at least once a month.

he has been fighting bout once a month.

had a bit of a rest though when the harrison - guzman fight was cancelled as he was on that card

He's 19 and has only taken one month off so far.

I hate when stuff like this happens. I'm all for the spotlight being put on younger fighters, but just as the case with Ward here stateside. We've all seen what happens when fighters step up to early. We shouldn't expect any real competition until the 15 or 16th fight with these olympian guys. Maybe more for Khan since he isn't but 19. Every American boxing fan knows who David Reid is. All the talent in the world but he was pushed to far to fast. Give Khan 2 or 3 years.

I don't expect him to fight anyone 'decent' anytime soon, but he is obviously capable of beating higher quality opponents than that guy, who was ranked like 300 in the world, so it is a waste of time imo to get in the ring and fighting the equivalent to his little sister. He's probably had far harder sparring partners than this. At this stage in his career its in his interests to get him rounds under his belt.

    Eh, don't think so.

I mean, this was the main event right? Didn't it occur after Skelton-Williams? It was his 9 or 10th fight? And from what I remember this is coming off a decision victory. Confidence is key and he has to look good. This guy's record wasn't that bad. He'll get his rounds once he moves up to 8 and 10 round contest, but until then it's just all practice imo. How to prepare for a fight, what the proccess is like, smoothing the transition from short little amatuer matches (6 minutes I think) to lengthy pro matches. Doesn't need the rounds yet and just needs to keep busy so that when he does step it up, so he isn't underprepared and overwhelmed.
