You going need a trainer bro. if you want to enter any kind of boxing tournament you need to be properly trained. You will embarrass yourself otherwise. There are 11 years olds out there that would cash your check if your not prepared, and I am not saying that to be a smart a$$ ! If your really serious about doing something in boxing , you need to find out your options. Go to
http://www.amateurboxing.com/ Melanie Ley might be able to point you in the right direction . Good luck !
O yeah here is that 11 year old im talking about hitting the mittsOriginally Posted by Lords Gym

Like Lords gym said, its not sensible and it's also not possible... licences etc...Originally Posted by Boxerjl
that kid is pretty damn good, and not to detract anything from him, but keep in mind that every homemade video on the internet looks accelerated due to a lack of clarity. Reduce the speed of his combinations by about 50% and you have a truer account of his hand speed.
I just watched it a second time. it's almost comical. We have a kid at our gym who 100% WILL turn pro in about a year or so and that video makes him look like a sloth.
keep an look out for a kid named duane williams out of Dynamic Boxing in Westland, MI.
Its possible just not to be advised...like Lords said before you would end up embaressed...Last year We were at a regional about a month before my super heavyweight Trevor Bryant went to the junior olympics and there were 2 country boys in their late teens who were there for some prelim's up in Altona and had no trainer with them and needed a coach in the corner...I had some time between fights and another coach was with me so I offered to help out...I didn't know it was the kids first fight ( I thought his coach was just late or something)...(he was actually about 22 or so) he got clobbered I ended up throwing in the towel this kid was embaressed badly...good thing about the amatuers they have divisions so experience is kept kind of even( novice,,open ) or else he would have gotten hurt...Truth is if you get a good amatuer with about 150+ fights they are better then many pro's...There is a 90lb 14yr old out of Albany Amir Iman who throws more punches per rd than Ouma!! Trevor has won every fight he has been in by KO including his gold medal bout..dont let the word amatuer fool yaOriginally Posted by Boxerjl

Right .. yeah that little kid is all business. ! a little pacman ! good power also.! and that’s my point . People that want to compete and all, you need training! you need a coach ! someone to be right there. you can't learn what you need to know on the internet alone and think your going to do well . Your average Joe blow neighbor or your little brother is not a good sparring partner ! All he is going to do is give you a false sense of security , and then your going to get clowned by a 10 -11 year old who has been properly trained . someone that knows how to slip punches and counter on a dime . . Hitting a bag is only a small part of the whole picture. you need so many more tool to be effective as fighter. Footwork, learning about how to get angles on your opponents, fainting, giving him looks, changing up what your doing every round so your not predictable. The great fighters change up and they never do the same thing over in succession so that you can’t get into their rhythm . All these things can only be learned hands on ! . Best of luck Boxerjl.. you have good potential !
