Wow, it's not often something moves me enough to be serious but this was pretty emotional stuff. To see a once mighty fighter reduced to that is heartbreaking.
I guess I knew he was like that, in some ways he's actually more physically aware than I thought he would be but it's still shocking.
I can't believe that no boxers have ever visited him, but like the reporter said it must be an image that they cannot afford to have in their heads if they are going to step between those ropes again themselves.
One good thing about the interview though, it certainly showed that Gerald is excellently cared for by his sisters, he was clean, well dressed and looked in good physical condition.
It was also nice to see him smiling and to feel that at least he seem's happy and that his life still has some meaning,
If anything I think this video restored some dignity to him as he seemed polite, gracious and cheerful.
We shouldn't shy away from the tragically fallen, and I guess we shouldn't feel sorry for them as if he and others somehow died on the night of their accidents.
He is still alive, he still has a life, a family and hopefully a long future.
I wish him well
Makes me want to cry and shows what a brutal sport boxing really is, one minute he's the hottest thing around..the next he is as he is.. sad but true
wow thats really bad man i knew it was serious but i never saw it .. and now i no.
i really feel for the man and its shamefull that no one bar rjj has seen him, and i respect roy also for that because thats what the referee's for and roy is a real man for caring like he does and he used to stop half way thru punching and ask the ref if he wants to stop the fight and there needs to be more men with compassion like roy and the man who was interviewing gerald.
i wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy and i hope gerald lives the best life he possibly can.
Immortal Technique
I think he is, and at this point its a wonderful thing to ask for![]()

gotta disagree with this "Feel sorry for G-Man" forum......this man was an evil human being....he used to get dogs from the pound tie them up and let his pit bull kill them....if his dog lost a fight he would kill them too....he cared for people even less....there was a huge story about him that was posted on this site about a month ago...this man got what he deserved....Originally Posted by Starr

What did he do to humans? I know he was cruel to dogs but I wouldn't wish that on anyone, regardless of how cruel he was...that was really really really really sad....
definetly hard to watch as a fighter, even as an Amatuer... no wonder pro fighters don't want to visit him in the flesh.
Tragic to see any human like that, save for the likes of fucking Adolf Hitler.
