Just checked boxrec, the boy did it!
Took him until the 10 th round though, still the bandwagon marches on.
Now just gotta hope somebody ups this fight!

Here's a transcript of my live updates from Panamanian radio:
First. Mosquera down within a few seconds. Valero swarming him. Mosquera gets up and dishes out some hard shots himself. Sounds like a war. Mosquera down again. He's in bad shape. Valero throwing everything at him. Mosquera makes it out of the first round, barely.
Second. Sounds like an absolute war. Mosquera choosing to brawl. Valero teeing off, but Mosquera surviving and landing some of his own shots. Announcer says Valero lands 3 for every 1 Mosquera lands. Mosquera in bad shape but hanging on.
Third. Valero continues to attack and lands a heckuva right, but Mosquera seems to be taking the punches better. Mosquera counters with courage. Valero down! People throws debris in the ring and the fight is halted momentarily. They trade bombs! This announcer is about to have a heart attack!!!! Mosquera wobbled at the end of the third.
Fourth. Mosquera bleeding. Valero keeps on throwing bombs. Valero gasping for air. Every punch from Valero is a power shot. Mosquera moving some more and landing some counters. Valero slowing down a little. Obviously cannot keep this pace for many rounds. Valero bleeding too. They trade again. Valero lands a flurry at the end of the round.
Fifth. Announcers chastise Mosquera for brawling. Mosquera lands a hard low blow and buys a reprieve. Mosquera concentrating on the body. Mosquera is dominating this round and Valero seems gassed. Valero bleeding from the left brow. Good round for Mosquera who seems less and less bothered by Valero's punches. Mosquera taunting Valero. Holy smokes!
Sixth. Mosquera complains to the ref that Valero is not fighting with a mouthpiece. Valero still throwing bombs. Mosquera concentrating on the body and it seems to be paying off. Valero's mouth wide open but keeps on winging shots. Mosquera taking those monster shots much better than before.
Seventh. Valero seems tired but continues to fire hard shots. Mosquera in bad shape again. Valero dominating but Mosquera refuses to go away. Very dominant round for Valero. Both guys are a bloody mess.
Eight. Valero comes out firing bombs again. The end might be near for Mosquera. Mosquera fights on urged by the public and continues to concentrate on the body. Valero continues to dominate. Mosquera lands another low blow! Point deduction the next time. Mosquera in bad shape but refuses to give up.
Ninth. Mosquera wobbled again. Valero seems to have the energy to keep on firing hard shots. Mosquera in bad shape yet again. Valero taunting Mosquera now. Mosquera surviving by moving around, but he seems hopelessly behind.
Tenth. Announcers describe Valero as a "punching machine." Valero outlanding Mosquera by about 6 to 1. Valero corners Mosquera on a neutral corner and tees off. Mosquera about to go. Mosquera's chief second steps in and halts the action. Fight over.
Valero TKO10 Mosquera.

Valero dethrones Mosquera!
Sunday, August 6 2006
Venezuelan KO artist Edwin Valero (20-0, 20 KOs) very impressively captured the WBA superfeather belt as he dropped Panamanian defending champ Vicente Mosquera (24-2-1) twice in the first round, came off the canvas from a bad knockdwon by the champ's vicious left hook in the third, and finally stopped him in the tenth round on Saturday in Panama City, Panama. Valero was leading on the cards by six, six and five points before the stoppage. Valero, who is one of the most exciting fighters in boxing, is banned from fightng in the U.S. due to a spot found on a brain scan.
Aww fuck, i picked mosquera![]()
Big win for Valero, Moaquera was no chump, just fought the wrong fight against such a big puncher. Valero is now definately a player at 130. Could go a long way.
