Default Would Mike Tyson Be A Good Trainer???

You ladies and Gents probably discussed this before....

I ask only because Tyson is a smart man when it comes to the fight game he has a Shitload of knowledge and is a hell of a historian, I know he is a few sandwitches short of a picnic but his problem has never been his intelligence and wisdom but being a master of his emotions...Mike when fighting would have trouble sticking to the gameplan out of frustration and rage, since he wouldnt be the one in the ring I think he could probably check his emotions enough to guide someone else and advise them...

1st sufficient time would have to go by for Mike to show adequate maturity, and next step for Mike would be an assistant trainer...

Just a thought and stranger shat has happened maybe a god way for Mike to straighten out and forget all the bad that had surrounded him in his own career maybe a redemption of sorts...

I agree 100% I think Mike would be an excellent trainer because of his boxing knowledge. Remember when Mike Tyson was on HBO talking about the late Max Schmelling to Jim Lampley and Roy Jones. If I recall it right it was on a B-hop fight and something went wrong with the tape on B-hop hand so they had to re tape it, so they was having side interviews and Mike just so happen to be there. Anyways Roy and Lampley look like little kids when it came to the knowledge Mike posses when it came to boxing. So Mike would be an excellent trainer and the person he would train would prob be endowned with the same knowledge as Mike cause Cus posses alot of knowledge to.

Is Mike still helping out as trainer for community service hours from the charge he had awhile ago?

I dont think he would be a great trainer. He is too busy doing other crap to devote himself to some other guys career. He WOULD make a great advisor though. Teach the young guys how to spot hanger-oners, fake friends, bad promoters, etc....He should do like ODH and open his own boxing promo company. Id bet he would get many more good up and comers.

I'm a fan of Tyson but I think it would take a special person to sit on their stool in between rounds while Mike Tyson screams and spits in their face.

I dont know dude,I think Mike would be pretty damn good in the corner...I see something like that really being Mike's thing......Then again I would laugh my ballz off if the guy wasn't listening to Mike by the 6th round and Mike finally having enough and punching the guy out right on the stool...Then lacing them up and going in himself

I don't think Mike has the mental make up to be a head trainer...He couldn't deal with the ego's of a fighter...I don't see mike as a motivator and being able to hold his cool during a fighters difficlut mood swings in a camp...He would be a great second or fine tune trainer. A guy who comes in the last 2 or 3 weeks of training to fix mistakes and touch up on last minute adjustments

I think if Mike could control his temper a tad then he could be a VERY VERY VERY good trainer.

He has a vast knowledge of boxing history, but I am not sure that knowledge would turn him into a good trainer. Besides like someone else already said I dont think he has the mental make up to tolerate a boxer for a full training camp. I could see him as a strategic advisor or something like that. Someone that will come in a point out another boxers weaknesses.

Then again if you had Mike Tyson in your corner telling you what to do would you want to go out there and do something different? I would make sure I was following his instructions by the letter.

I doubt Mike would make a good trainer. He became a person who couldn't even train for his own fights. Seriously doubt he'd have the aptitude to train someone else.

Just because somebody is great at a sport does not mean that they would be great at coaching that sport.

Boxing is, as with many other sports lacking in top notch trainers/coaches. I think it would be a shame if someone like Tyson didn't pass on all that he has learned when he feels good and ready to. The fact that he's a bit mental is irrelevant, most coaches are
