    Default Here We Go Again.

    hello. sorry to bug everyone again but i have one last question.my 13 year old brother wants to try weightlifting a bit more serious then boxing so he asked me will he get muscular like bodybuilders i told him no because you have be at least 16. is this correct? bye the way my brother is 13 and 5'10,160 lbs. because he bigger would he have a better chance of getting more bulky?
    By the way i know he will get stronger and his punches will pack more buff he wants to show off to the girls i suppose . sorry to be a pain.

    I would say that 13 is the very earliest you can start weightlifting. Nothing sooner then that. I know a guy who has lifted since he was 9, and he has THE most deformed body.

    13 and already wanting to show off to girls?

    When I was 13 I had a girl freind... we used to hold hands a lot, some times even hug... one time she even kissed me....

    eehh... maybe it is better to loose some weight first, before lifting it... He is (in my opinion) to young to do serious weightlifting. His body is at a crucial point (being 13 and all) of developing. Lifting weights to young is just not good for the bonestructure and stuff. (don't exactly how to put it down in english, sorry, but you get my drift i guess).

    My first comment is a rather serious one. He's big for a 13 year old. Loose weight by doing a sport in which you have to move! Like boxing or soccer or whatever! Then when he's about 15-16 he can start thinking about a little weightlifting...

    But like i said, that's just my opinion.....

    hmmm, i wonder how his back will be like when he turns 30 or so. Or his shoulders...
    I've been doing heavy labour since my 4th year, growing up in a circus didn't have much choice. Since my 15th i've been working in horseridingschools, cleaning stables and lifting hay and strawstacks (about 16000-17000kg goes 'through' you in about one hour time, once a week) I have two hernia's because of that. Not because i don't have the muscle, i can lift 100kg with not much effort, but because my skeleton couldn't hold it. To much strain on de skeleton when developing into an adult and stuff....

    I'd advice strongly against it. Just not healthy

    i hurd weightliftin is quite bad for sum1 tht age, shud let ur muscles grow by themselves first

    and im sure back in the day lol, muscles didnt get girls at 13
