McCall Wants Rematch With Maskaev

According to The Courier-Journal, former heavyweight champion Oliver McCall (48- wants another crack at a heavyweight title, a rematch with WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev (33-5).

Oliver can crack like mutha ! he is another old timer that can shine in this era !

I ohnestly believe he will win a title.

i definitely mcall can beat maskaev again. but i would keep him away from wlad and lyachovich.

Thats an interesting point do u think lyachovich would beat McCall? an what about wlad and his weak chin?

i think lyachovich may out work him for a decision and i mean maybe. wlad can really hit and after the peter fight and with working with emmanuel stewart now he can also box alittle so because of mcall's age wlad might be dangerous for him. could mcall knock him out you bet but what if he didnt and wlad's big jab held him off early and the big right hand started coming behind it? i wouldnt want to see mcall beat up and maybe stopped. he should go for maskaev he would knock him out again and then maybe valuev.

Has anyone seen his fight against Juan Carlos Gomez?? That sort of lost my interest in him coming back as I didn't know of Gomez, but supposedly it was a very close fight, McCall still walks through absolutely everything and apparently he was very close to getting the KO, stalking Gomez through the championship rounds... He certainly can still be an entertaining fighter, who would match up pretty well against anyone.. I could see him beating just about anyone really... He would have the least chance against Wlad but he has about as good a shot as anyone against Wlad at the same time... Just the kind of fighter who could bring out Wlads worst, Klit would have to be very very careful not to gas out as McCall wouldn't be going anywhere..

I looked at McCalls record the other day and the Juan Carlos Gomez fight has no contest (NC) next to it does any one no why it was ruled a no contest.

He was tested positve with cocaine after the bout. but after a while, it appears that a 2nd test wasn't possible with the urine...the truth is not know cearly on this one...

IMO if McCall didn't have the personal problems he has over the years ( IF unfortunately is a BIG word)
He could have went on to have a hell of a run as a fighter...IMO he would have won more than that one belt....He is a hard hitter with a great jaw and he can box.....Shame what drugs can do to a guy with potential like that

Its a verry fun time for HW boxing. I have always loved old athletes beating young ones.

man that would be a vicious one. the only reason I dont like this fight as that i dont wont any of these tough cool guys lose.
