Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Barrera vs Juarez II
Break out the matches & light up the dynamite people it's time for some Mexican fireworks in the middle of September!!!
Even though the 4th of July is long...we may get another shot at it...for those that missed out.
You guessed it...par for the course...it's time for another installment of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round.
As we regrettably bust out our wallets once again for the PPV shelling & delve into the spirits on this Saturday night of September 16th, 2006 it's fair to say that two of the sport's more worthy combatants will be well worth the buy.
Future Hall of Famer & current WBC Super Featherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera (67 fights, 62 wins with 42 ko's, & 4 losses) climbs through the ropes to right what some viewers have claimed to have been a wrong earlier this year. Back in May, Barrera matched power & skill for skill against late replacement Rocky Juarez (27 fights, 25 wins with 18 ko's & 2 losses) in a neck in neck battle that ended up in a draw but was immediately reversed to a decision for Barrera due to a scoring error.
Many cried foul...as we all always do...but the fight was very very close. Truthfully...I would have been happier with letting the draw stand than the reversal...but this is boxing & we have what we have. So...once again...it shall be history in the makings for Barrera as he tries to turn the clock back on father time in what will surely be another shoulder to shoulder battle.
As always...I like to do this little write up before the actual action get's cranking & I figured I'd pull this one out short & sweet...because to be quite honest...there's only a few ways this thing can go.
Factors for & against Barrera...
Factor #1: Power. Marco's got loads of it & in both hands. Coupled with his aggression, speed, determination, & stamina...this man is almost unbeatable when he is 100% mind, body, & soul. In the past...he's never seemed to tire no matter what he is hit with...and that leads me to this...
Factor #2: Endurance. In the past, Marco has proven that he can take a lickin & keep on kickin. Anyone that can stand toe to toe with Morales and the better of the division, has to have one hell of a beard & body to boot. One almost has to think that Barrera is a shoe in for the winner of this fight...which leads me to...
Factor 3#: Stamina. For some reason...advantage to Barrera...he always ALWAYS guts it out. Some way or another he almost always rises to the occassion...then again...this could be a factor against him as he might have risen one to many times.
Factor #4: Age. Huge factor in the fight that I believe is against Barrera. A few times in their first fight...Barrera gave in to what he was getting. Juarez was getting through & Barrera was wearing down. Granted he came back & gutted it out...the question is...how many more wars & how much more battle can he take? Not much IWO.
Factors for & against Rocky Juarez...
Factor #1: Barrera period. Nothing more needs to be said other than he's fighting one of the most accomplished men of the game & it appears, of late, that no matter what you do to Barrera...he's still standing in front of you...unless your name is Pacquiao...will skip those other winners.
Factor #2: Power. Juarez has power...but not in bunches. He doesn't have a massive amounts of knockouts on his record...but he does have a lot of noteable wins that came by TKO...& that's good enough for me. As I see Barrera's abilities & power my be wearing thin as of their last match...maybe Rocky's got the advantage here. We shall see.
Factor #3: Chin. Juarez can take a punch. Never being stopped once in 27 fights is an impressive thing...& getting by Barrera's best is impressive also...but if this fight goes the distance (which I honestly don't think that it will) I'll be shocked. I truly believe that one of these men will come out of it different than the last go round. Somebody's bound to get knocked out because Barrera is going to want to right the wrong just as badly as Juarez will.
Factor 4#: Age & Stamina. Juarez, like Barrera, can seemingly go all night...but can he go all night again against a fully prepared & determined Barrera? I say yes...no matter what Barrera turns up...he should be able to go toe to toe...unless in the odd event that Barrera catches him.
As you should be able to see by now...I've totally sold the fwock out on this DRBR & refuse to pick a winner...my heart says Barrera...but my gut says Juarez...but come the fwock on...this is Barrera!
So...as always...break out the chips & salsa...your poison of choice & pick your spot on the couch...Saturday September the 16th, 2006 is fight night & it's gonna blow up like a stick of dynooooooooooooh-mite!
Heh heh heh.
Cheers...& koneecheewah bitches.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
