i ask this cause iv never seen him acknowledge the british fans..now i know he was born in london and moved to canada when he was 7.learnt all his boxing over there.signed up for frank maloney fought for britain..it annoys me that hes never ever spent any time over here..iv seen him be interviewed many times n describe himself as n american athlete..also he sais he is world hes every1s not just 1 country but yet it was always us british supportin him all over the world..i appreciate he always had the british flag there when he entered the ring and i am a huge fan of lennox..bt i dont believe him to be a true brit..hes always wanted the american fans to love him..i remember him appearin on the jonathan ross show with his american accent..he had come over to england for 2 weeks!!..just for interviews so he said..im not sayin you have to live in the country to be named a true englishman....i just dont class him as british.. are best ever heavyweight..maybe best boxer we have ever had..and he isnt even a brit dear me!!

He was Canadian for his amatuer career, British for his pro career. Right now I think he's American probably until his commentating career is over than he will resort to Jamacian nationality.

Finally I predict for his death he will go back to his original roots and be buried in Africa. :P

If you're a huge fan of his, I assume because of his boxing ability, then what does it matter?

yeah there was no doubt about the abilty he had..and the talent..my point is iv never really seen him as our own..hes hardly like ricky hatton is he..proud to be british!!..but like u said what does it matter..............

You act as if patriotism is a bad thing but sense of shared identity is what binds nations together.

If it wasn't for people feeling a sense of nationhood we would all just be one huge world country.

I admire Lennox Lewis as a boxer, and also respect him as a man but to me he just ain't British and whenever he fought a fellow Brit be it Mason, Bruno or whoever I was rooting heart and soul for the other guy.

It's not wrong for me to think this way, it's completely normal.

What is the point of all the seperate countries of the world entering world wide sporting events like the World Cup (soccer for you yanks) or the Olympics if nationality doesn't matter?

Your supposed to be proud of your country of origin and be a true patriot, especially when you consider that millions died in two world wars to defend that right.

Lennox Lewis is/was a fantastic boxer, the best of his generation, but his roots and heart arn't the UK so I'll never think of him as one of my own, and I'm completely comfortable to say that.
