When UK junior welterweight Junior Witter and American DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley clash for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title on 9/15, at Alexandra Palace, London, current IBF light heavyweight champion Clinton Woods will be cheering him on.
"The WBC is a proper belt and I want Junior to win it because he's English, as much as anything else. He'll have to put the effort in, though. sometimes Junior just does enough to win, but he'll need to pull out the stops this time. Junior can look his best against the better opponents, and Ihope Sheffield will have another world champion by the end of Friday night," Woods said.
On the other hand, Woods, feels that Witter is not capable of hanging with the skill level of his UK rival, unbeaten Ricky Hatton.
"In the past, I always thought Witter would beat him, but when you look as some of Hatton's last few performances I can't see Junior living with him" said Woods
