Thread: Kostya Tszyu V Oscar De La Hoya ? (in their PRIME)

Here are two of the greatest fighters of there generation but have never fought each other.
Who do you think would have won if they'd fought?
Silky Oscar or The powerhouse Tszyu ?

I think Kostya would have beaten Oscar in their prime coz in the early days, not only was
Tszyu a powerful puncher but he could actually box immaculately too. Having watched his
earlier fights,man he was fantastic !!!!

Oscar is alot bigger than Kosta, naturally.. But your right it would have been an interesting fight at one point, at 140... Id pick Oscar because I feel he's a superior fighter in almost every aspect, but he didn't have the style made to beat Kosta, almost the opposite really. Would be a good fight.

A prime DLH is just as strong as Tszyu and more all around solid...A young DLH at 140 would surely beat Kostya

Oscar smokes Kostya 10 out of 10 times.

Now let's all remember that Oscar has a steel chin & can crack at 140, just as if not harder than Kostya, plus Oscar's boxing ability exceeds Kostya! I say Oscar by KO/TKO

Oscar's prime was at 147 Tszyu's was at 140. Oscar wins

I hate you this is such a hard call for me lol.....I would JUST edge towards ODLH, very very close call though.

Just a rumour I heard and I cannot verify it, but didn't Oscar duck Tszyu at some point? He skipped 140 and turned down a fight with Tszyu didn't he? It would be a great fight but I would favour Kostya ever so slightly,although I could never rule out the Golden Boy. Kostya strenght was against boxers,he had time to think his way around it,which is why I would favour him.I stress,it would be close and I would not be surprised to see Oscar beat him.

TV stations couldnt agree - much to Oscar's relief.

Size has nothing to do with it - kostya was a beast against far bigger guys - who KT just chopped sown. Hurtado was 5'11

I think ODLH would make an early lead in the fight until Tszyu had sussed him out and found his range for the big right hand. This is a hard one but i pick Tszyu by about round 8/9 ko/tko. Peace out.

de la hoya would in my opinion smoke tszyu. he's got such great skill.

Yeah I really doubt that.. It probably wouldn't have been a mega money fight anyways... It's the same thing with Mosley, ppl say he ducked Kosta by moving straight to weltterweight from 135... As if DLH was less of a challenge

Both guys hit hard, Oscar was just more polished and had more weapons than just the right cross that Tszyu had.
