One week after his twelve-round war with Edison Miranda, IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham has checked out of the Protestant Jungstilling Hospital in Siegen. “I've recovered from the operation and I feel good,” the champion said to the journalists. “Having the belt on me is the most important thing of course. I fought hard to defend it.”

King Arthur struck a blow against speculations about a possible end of his career because of the double fractured jaw. “In a few weeks I will take up the fitness training again,” the 26 years old boxer said. “In about two months boxing training will follow. The jaw has been set by two titanium sheets and the healing process goes on. It doesn´t cause any problems.”

He also dismissed a recent statement by Miranda, who said he considers himself to be the true winner of the fight and denied having used dirty tactics.

“That must be a joke,” Abraham commented. “He obviously lost on points. Usually the referee would have disqualifed him. Miranda was cautioned because of three low punches – everybody at the arena, every television viewer could see it. Some of the other hits below the belt were punished by the referee. It was an intentional and brutal head butt – it was obviously seen on television. Moreover there´s no denying that Miranda had been punching after the round was over. Maybe he should watch the fight again before talking such an idiotic bullshit. I still think that Miranda is an unfair sportsman.”

Throwing either of them in with Jermain would be like feeding Jaws a guppy...Jermain doesn't look impressive but he does it vs very impressive competition which is a lot more than these two can say!

I agree,JT beats both these guys. I think Abraham would beat Miranda in a rematch but Miranda maybe more comfortable Stateside? Abraham seemed to be able to negate his power easily but I wanted Miranda to win,it just seemed everyone was against him!

But to be fair to Abraham he did trade punches and he TOOK some mean blows to the jaw after it was already broken, credit is due cause he also could have hugged Miranda.

Abraham - Taylor would be a boring fight they are both cautious fighters who wait around tooo much, but when they deicide to take the lead they can change things around and thats WHEN they decide.

Miranda - Taylor would be better as far as style but I think Taylors skill can win over the more straight forward one, two punch style that Miranda has.

A tactic Abraham should do, since he lost that fight in the 5th round. He only makes himself look worse as if Miranda hadn't already

Abraham showed guts to hang in there. but hanging in, don't win fights. Abraham got that ass kicked, pillar to post , he really did, the guy was in reverse and running from the first round on, horrible style . and then Abraham would lunge wild for a tad and then back to running. Abraham also used dirty tactics , elbows and what not , This fight was a nasty type fight, with both guys fighting like assholes. not impressed by either fighter.

and the ref should have his purse withheld for Christ sake. the ref was absolutely atrocious , one sided job by this Muppet. blind eye for the home town guy. Just my opinion mates.

As far as Abraham not going to the body after wobbling Miranda...I'm pretty sure that a broken jaw would rattle your concentration.

I thought the fight was a lot closer than you & some others did...but I'm gonna sit through it again & do the play by play of it ASAP when I get a good copy.

I don't blame Abraham from back pedaling after the broken jaw. I agree that Miranda fouled twice...but not 5 or 6 times that that pickle head ref did...but I want to sit it out once again & RBR it out.

My first impression was with you...it was a dirty fight & I said the exact same words...almost...I thought that Miranda fought like an asshole...but I have since seen some highlights & watched a shat copy again...& I aint so sure that the ref was the one playing the asshole & projecting.

I was impressed by both men. Miranda ripped some amazingly hardcore shots & Arthur fought his body to the end of a breaking point...RESPECT! I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay impressed.

From my point of view,the fight as a whole was way to awkward for me to enjoy , nothing really looked smooth and everything seemed choppy , . I felt frustrated the whole time and did not enjoy the watch. no punches really appeared to get through , and the long rests periods allowed by the ref during rounds, coupled with the maylay ringside with all the people yelling at Abraham to fight on. the fouling by both fighters and then the ref taking points away hand over fist. I was simply left frustrated and unsatisfied. It was like everything i don't like in a boxing match , happening all at once. . LMFAO ! Know what i mean ?

Still haven't seen the fight. Boxingtalk has a RBR up on their site, and they score it 115-114 Miranda, with 3 point deductions instead of 5. It seems like the fight definitely should have been stopped as a TKO, or Abraham DQ'd in the 5th for taking all that time.
