Yeah it's a shame Freitas retired all of a sudden, especially after already somewhat negotiationg or lining up the fight with Diaz.. Julio looks very dangerous as well, Castillo gave him a royal beatdown but he probably wasn't ready, he's still very young and raw. Would have been a hell of a fight with Freitas and Chavez would too, hopefully he doesn't just end up out of the picture.

I will always hold "POPO" in the highest of reguards... What a fighter... Going out when he did... although I was looking forward to the Diaz bout. He went out @ the end of the top of his game... When Jorden should have went out, and Hearns should have went out, and Holyfield, and... well you get the idea... He will have a legacy that, although is not a Hopkinsesk legacy... It is his own... and his alone. He was a great. Not an all time... But one to be remembered. As much as I think he has alot left...... Stay retired my friend.... You have alot of facits to scifin off of. All true fight fans should respect his choice and hope he stays retired........

Yea for sure, it's his life... I just kind of wonder what suddenly changed his mind, why he wen't so far towards making that fight with Diaz.. And Hearns, Holyfield, and Jordan(in that order) achieved so much more then he could ever dream of. Although I know you weren't saying otherwise.

I think Diaz vs Chavez would be a good fight, I would favor Chavez I think he is more experienced.

You know if the fight was already made then, I feel bad for Diaz and don't know why Freitas would do that to someone. I think it's a little wrong.

What if 1 month before the Mayweather Hatton fight was about to happen, Hatton had said "I'm going to retire now"

Why couldn't Freitas say "I'm going to retire after this fight, this is my last time in the ring."

Can you imagine the ratings that would get and the money he would make from sheer gate value from people to see that fight.

    That's why I don't understand it.

chavez will knock him out inside 8 rounds
Levander Johnson's family will be in the Chavez corner rooting him on. This will be Chavez's best performance
