Thread: Is Cory Spinks the fastest boxer ever?

Is Cory Spinks the fastest ever. No gents I don't mean handspeed I mean footspeed. I was watching a couple of his matches and he runs faster than any boxer I have ever seen. I believe he may be faster than Carl Lewis and Micheal Johnson, maybe he is in the wrong sport, what do you guy's think.

That having a crowd pleasing style will get you your arse handed to you eventually... *cough* Vargas *cough* Mayorga *cough*

I think Cory's style is entertaining. Name one other fighter who brings more entertainment than watching Cory walk into the ring? The man is a comedy genuis!

i like cory spinks. matter fact spinks mayorga is one of my favorite fights. i love seeing somebody give a boxing lesson.

it doesn't make sense for cory to trade since he has no power.

He fights his own fights instead of the crowd. You fight the crowd's fight then you end up getting knocked out. Cory fights an entertaining style that he can win with. It makes no sense for him to trade. He uses is advantages and talents and wins with him. Why would he ever disregard all his skill just to trade with someone

I'm sure if you had a great jab and good defense and great foot speed but no power, you wouldn't say

"Well..I may as well quit on my best qualities, my defense, my foot speed and my jab and fight with my disadvantages!(power)"

That wouldn't be very smart of him.

Spinks does what he should do, but I don't enjoy watching him fight. Too much movement, and not active enough. And I don't dislike boxers, I love watching guys like Floyd, Toney, Hopkins, and Calderon fight. Spinks just kinda bores me, not much variety, just moves, throws the jab, rinse, repeat. Guys like Floyd, Toney and Hopkins can do that but can also stand in front and slip and counter, fight effectively on the inside, etc.

I understand that, I just don't really enjoy watching him fight. I don't really dislike the guy, just don't look forward to watching him fight. He's a good boxer though.

personally i agree with OUMAFAN i dont particularlly enjoy watching Cory. But I would respect him alot more if he rematches Mayorga again since he got by on rubbing his rabbits foot for luck. his ring entrances are pretty whorendous too! im a good dancer so i hate to see when someone like cory who cant dance worth sh*t makes a fool of himself for 10min prior to walking into the ring. atleast Prince, RJJ, etc know how to dance. this man actually choreographs his entrances and they still look like the special olympics.
