Does anybody else hate the way you cant hear the punches or sound in the ring on ITV ?

I hate it how its almost completely silent and you can't hear the punches or fighters at all, it ruins the feel of the fight and especialy when you have someone who looks like they slap like Calzaghe in the ring, the effect of the punch is completely lost, it looks very pussy even though i know its not.

Something about how ITV show the matches just makes it look slow and crap , you just never get that "oooooouch" factor when someone lands a punch.

just wondered if any other UK viewers felt the same.

Yeah I notice that aswell,you can hear the crowd very well but cant hear the action in the ring,I also hate how they go for a break after every round,and cant hear the,corner advice after the rounds...

I have to say HBO covers boxing by far the best,everything from having a mic in the corners so can hear the corner advice at the end of the round,and also very good sound from punches..

I have a jones fight on dvd cant remember which fight but HBO put a mic in the back off Roy jones trunks so they could hear the punches better lol...

Only one thing bugs me a bit about HBO is how many times does George Foreman say need to punch him to the body lol...

The thing I hat most about ITV is having knobs like Duke McKenzie and Barry McGuigan on it.

Duke McKenzie particulary just repeats the same crap over and over, 'Bika is sssoooooooooooo strong, just look at the strenght of the man! 'Bika is just one tough cookie!', 'Bika's strength is just exceptional'. 'I can't belive how strong Bika is on the inside', 'This Bika is a real strong kid', 'I tell you what John, this Bika is a whole different leauge from Lacy strengthwise, he's just so strong'. 'Calzaghe needs to keep on the outside and not get into a brawl with this kid, cos Bika is just to strong'. 'Wow this kid Bika is strong'. 'I tell you what John, no other champion is going to want to go anywhere near this Bika kid, he's just too strong.' 'Kessler won't want to know this kid, too strong John',

and this repetative dribble went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on for 12 rounds.

Then afterwards we are graced with Barry's great words of wisdom, 'Well Jim, this Bika character was just so strong in there, he was a rough, tough really strong kid and.................................. OH PLEASE GOD JUST BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

If you want to hear punch effects tune into the contender, even a jab could be mistaken for a life threatening haymaker

Yeah, unless the boxing goes back to Sky, which also has a fair few adverts, settling for adverts between rounds in around 2/3rds of breaks is just the way its gonna be. The thing with sky is they certainly have the mikes towards the ring, if you watched the friday fight you can tell the difference in punches by the sound they make on contact.

The one thing I know for certain is that I will never buy a Mitsubishi L200. It's not hard, it's an overpriced lardbucket of a vehicle with very little going for it.
