I think it is bad. I can't see how you can argue that one person's killing whilst in power was bad and so now he should be killed by the new group in power.

Seems to me like murder in both cases. If the Americans somehow lost control of Iraq I guess then the people who were responsible for hanging Saddam should be tried and sentenced to death as well

I'm not condoning Saddams actions but after an assassination attempt on his personal life he killed 148 people.

Some Saudi's killed several thousand Americans and George Bush and his allies kill 1 million Iraqi's.

Makes Saddam look like a sissy

You know I see Saddam's picture in the paper and on TV and I don't know if it's just me but it seems like they have only taken 1 picture of him and just used it with various backgrounds. The one where he has his hand up, finger pointing in the air and his mouth open yammerin on about how he's still in charge

I agree completely. I think it is an awful decision. I despised reading the yahoo news headline "Britain supports Saddam justice decision". How can a country that did away with the death penalty years ago condone the hanging of another human being? This Briton here does not support this judgement!!!!

The whole affair reeks of hypocrisy, bullshit and outright lies. The whole pretext for removing Saddam was WMD. This was a blatant untruth. Where is the justice being given to Blair and Bush for misleading the world and then going to war without a clear UN mandate? The war was illegal and downright wrong and these clowns are getting away with it all while Saddam is going to the hangman's noose. Thousand in Iraq have died since the removal of Saddam. Who is responsible for this pointless loss of life? The hypocrites in their ivory towers, thats who!! And yet this murder is left unaccountable and will be swept under the carpet. But alas Saddam did wipe out 148 people. After all wasnt that the reason for the invasion of Iraq?

Dont get me wrong. Saddam is a foolish and cruel man. But there are other equally foolish and cruel men. Its just that the perceptions alter for those figures.

The most sensible option is to simply incarcerate him....its painless and simple. No real repurcussions and in fitting with the so called values of those that instigated the war (well, largely Britain which is anti capital punishment)...
