Mike Tyson never came to the division. As hard as it is to imagine the boredom of heavyweights without him, what happens?

I think it would be known as the "Dead Era" of boxing.....Tyson brought people who were not fans to boxing....Kinda like the way Dale Earnhart brought non fans to nascar....for those few years he was bigger than boxing.....Originally Posted by LegendBoxing65

Tony Tucker would of ran the division
It still would have been pretty good: Bruno, Rudduck, Lewis, Morrison, Holyfield, Bowe, Golota, Moorer, Foreman, Mercer, McCall, and so on would have still been good.
Tyson might have been very dominant in the begining but he ducked guys at the end!
I would think that Holyfield would have become the head of the division as he did in 90.. Same pattern really since Mike did fade after he lost in 90.. The one fight we might have missed is the great Bonecrusher Smith/Evander Holyfield superfight.
...actually Bruno might have been the dominant figure in the heavyweight division until Holyfield came up
Frank Bruno? I get it. Lyle got jokesOriginally Posted by Lyle
I think it still could have been interesting.. Lots of guys who had a chance to shine otherwise it still wasn't as bad as the division today... Michael Spinks, Holyfield, Bruno, Witherspoon, Tucker, Biggs, Holmes could all still have mixed it up in the late 80's... and come 1990 Tyson never amounted to anything again anyways.
Holmes would have had ALL the spotlight, and instead of being underrated he would have the credit he deserves....
Oh Larry Holmes......wasn't he the guy who was beat by Michael Spinks TWICE and then Evander Holyfield, and then Oliver McCall and Brian Nielsen.....yeah he would have RULED
Frank Bruno was a decent fighter, he got beat by Witherspoon, Bonecrusher Smith but they were pretty much at the height of their careers when they beat him.
but oh well
larry holmes should of won both decisions against spinks he gave holy run for his money at 40+ winning about 5 or 4 rounds i think he should of got the nod against mccall and nielsen aswellOriginally Posted by Lyle

I think Holmes took Spinks lightly, but in a way that showed us how a smaller guy has advantages the bigger guys do not. I was shocked when Spinks beat Holmes. I was even shocked when he was in the 5th round.
