What a 2 weeks we've had..............

My missus was 2 days overdue, giving birth to out first babe and hadn't felt the baby move all day, so we went up to the hospital for a check up. They put her on the baby monitor and found that the babies heart beat was droppping down low intermintantly. They just whisked my missus away for am emergency caesarean - and I was just left standing in a room whilst she went for an epidural.

When the babe was born she was not in a good way - thought we were gonna lose her !!! She had breathed in loads of mechonium amongst many other probs.

Spent 8 days in High dependancy special care baby unit and last 4 days in a transition ward - had to watch her have heart and brain scans - I think we will be changed forever after this!!!

just got her and my wife home this afternoon!

Never been so scared in my life - 12 days of heaven & hell - still shitting myself now - but every minute of it is worth it for what we have

Anyway - what have I missed ?

OMG Big H!

what a nightmare start....we had a similiar one, while in the delivery, our little girl's heart beat dropped a bunch of medical personnel flew into the delivery room and took my wife away, meanwhile I was left there freaking out

thank God that she had no complications and we were able to take her home two days later.

I am glad things turned out ok. Being a Dad is a good thing my friend, enjoy..kids grow up so fast. My girl is already three years old...it seems like only yesterday she was born.

Congrats BIG H!!!!!!!! cc...nothing like being a DAD!!! Went through a tough time with our first also, the missus blood pressure got up to something like 190 over 120. They had to do a emergency C-section, so our first was born 8 and half weeks early. Made it through just fine though, the only problem she has is asthma.

That's great H. Congrats! And have fun. Aint nothing like the days you have ahead of you! Mine's 3mo old and already starting to get the attitude!!

Glad everything worked out. It's amazing how much you can love something instantly. It really made me care so much more for those people who are in danger of losing theri child. Can't imagine what it was like for you not knowing. No parent should ever have to suffer watching their little one slip away. Aint fair. God gave you some more time to love her so take advantage of it. cc
