    Default Ideas...

Now FightNight has come a LOOOONG way but here is one improvement I think would be AWESOME

OK the way the game is now you can choose a style for defense, offense, and base and you can customize your fighters face BUT.....

You can't customize your fighter's body type!

Body Type in general and in detail- Mike Tyson 5'11, James Toney 5'10, Rocky Marciano 5'11, Joe Frazier 5'11 .....VERY DIFFERENT body types.

    Tyson was muscle bound
    Toney is chubby
    Marciano was ripped
Frazier had all his weight in his legs

How to make it work: is if anyone has played WWE: Smackdown vs Raw....when you make a wrestler you get to choose how big or small the guys hands, forearms, biceps, shoulders, neck, thighs, calves, feet, etc.

The effect: well body type should have an effect on style and how your fighter moves, punches, defends, and so on

Another idea is individual punch stats

How to make it work: when you train and get points for power or speed you go to more specific area and choose which punches you would like to add speed or power too.

The effect: More original fighters...Ali will have not only his flashy jab but his extremely quick hooks....Joe Frazier will have a hellacious left hook but less of everything else....Ray Robinson would have a nice jab, an awesome left hook, and a pretty good right cross.

Another idea is more control over base

How to make it work: Anyone who has played Tiger Woods knows you get to make your own swing. You modify how upright you are and so on

The effect: Guys like Vitali or Jack Johnson are more upright....guys like Mike Tyson and Jack Dempsey are crouched....guys like Marciano would have their front shoulder pointed directly at the opponent and a guy like Tyson would have his shoulders more parallel.

So these changes would effect gameplay and make fighters even MORE original

    hell yeah, feel free to

I figure the more you can make your boxer original the more strategy and so on you can use.

Also footwork by itself as a category would be good too,
I mean you can have a guy with a certain style but better or worse footwork than another fighter. For example Floyd Mayweather Jr. and James Toney....similar defensive styles and stance but Floyd is hella faster than James

    OLYMPICS

i think it would be cool if u could go into olympics win gold medal have all tv crew would be awesome

MARKS ON UR BODY NOT JUST FACE

should be bruises where u hit ur guy in the belly

PRESS CONFERENCES AND ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO HIT THE GUY BACK IN WEIGH INS NOT JUST BLOCK

MORE TRAINING EXCERSIZES SKIPPING SIT UPS ECT

should be more training excersizes there isnt many on fight should be alot more

ILL THINK OF SOME MORE IDEAS LATER

...yeah and accidental headbutts, faster TKO's, being stunned more often and especially when hit with a haymaker!!!

There is a lot to be improved on

BALANCE as a statistic, Rocky had a GREAT chin, horrible balance....therefore he got knocked down but not hurt.

MULTIPLE TITLES!!!!....have fighters that duck you, have fighters who you avoid, the rivalry thing was AWESOME but make it more difficult.

"Styles make fights"....have it hard for little guys to get in on the good jabbers....have Bladomir have extreme difficulty connecting with Floyd

RING SIZE! it would also affect your strategy going into a bout

All good ideas. My friend keeps suggesting that in career mode they should get brain trauma and be able to die. They do have such things as career ending injuries on madden so i dunno. I personally don't like the idea but then again in fnr3 i had to have my heavyweight career ended when it became apparent i couldn't win any more fights regardless of their style. So branching from his idea, I'm not gonna say they should be able to die but maybe if you take heavy shots to areas over and over you get broken ribs that take a chunk out of your stamina and make you more vurnerable to body shots similar to cuts on the face.

If they throw in more training exercises another thing they can do is instead of do 1 training that increases a bunch of stats, have the rocky video game approach of a couple training sessions that increase one stat and if you over work that training or do poorly you can get a knee injury that slows down you agility or a shoulder injury that impacts your punch power.

Yes you did just read one of the longest run on sentences ever written.

Another thing i just thought of...

They should bring sparring back. You should be able to spar to increase your overall abillity but the longer you spar, the more chance you might get an injury (Sprained hand= less power, broken rib=less body durability etc).

In fact they should do that with all training methods, the longer you tarin, the better you become but the more chance you could injur yourself.

Yeah all of the ideas really involve bringing some more drama into the fights, because it's real I mean you can look at any fight and you'll have a storyline.

Anything that makes Fighters more original and the fights different from each other is GREAT!

With fights, I have RARELY been cut....I watch on tv, sometimes accidental cuts happen, sometimes they happen early and they change the course of the fight.

I also think the ability to switch trainers should have more of an effect in future games. You can have a trainer that helps with defense a la Floyd Mayweather Sr. , you could have a BOXING trainer a la Manny Steward or Tommy Brooks/Lou Duva, you could have edurance/workrate trainers and so on but the absolute KEY would be to involve young trainers like a Jeff Mayweather or Pat Burns.

I think guys like Teddy Atlas, Manny Steward, Roger Mayweather, Buddy McGirt, and Freddy Roach would be excited about being involved in the game but maybe the trainers need to be fiticious or maybe you should be able to create your own?

Another thing that pisses me off is KNOCKOUTS

#1 When people are knocked out they don't all fall the same way...the way it is now is no different than how guys fell in Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

    - In I think the first fight night you were able to pin the guy against the ropes and wail on him....GREAT I enjoyed that alot

This leads us to....different forms of stoppages

    * Ray Mercer-Tommy Morrison stoppage...have the guy up against the ropes and if he's getting battered then the ref has to stop it. (the other fighter can block but if he doesn't do it successfully then you get TKO'd just like in real life)

    * Mike Tyson-Trevor Berbick stoppage...flopping around on the canvas like a fish out of water. *****

    * Tommy Hearns-Roberto Duran stoppage....one punch LIGHTS OUT no getting up, no movement, no nothing

    * Bernard Hopkins-Oscar De la Hoya stoppage...body shot...delayed reaction, take a knee and movement should be limited if you are able to get back up.

    * Stoppage on headbutt...fighter can't stop the bleeding go to the scorecards after 4 rounds

    * And last but not least Oleg Maskaev-Hasim Rahman I ....you should be able to lay someone out through the ropes but VERY VERY seldomly

**** = When you are getting up off the canvas you should be able to get up right away and suffer a fate like Zab Judah vs Tszyu or Berbick vs Tyson....or you can wait a little while and get back up with no after effects

    OR

When you get back up you should still be hurt for a little while and thus try to escape the round like usual fighters do

    Also more flash knockdowns

i think they should get rid of the commentator. instead of him telling you the refree is going to stop the fight, why not have the ref tell you? they should have a ref in the ring. not just for after you have been knocked down. at all times. the trainers should hav emore part in it as well. have them tell you if you might of won the round. not the commentary.

Personally, I quite like FN3, but I agree there are plenty of areas where there could be improvements. Flurries of punches could be quicker, and speed of the game generally could be a bit better. Also with the parry, I don't think that your boxer should just freeze for a few seconds so that the opponent can swing at will, it should give a bit of an advantage, but not as much as it gives at the moment. Agree with Lyle on the KOs, different types, but also more 1st time KOs. Even with very good power, the opponent gets up every time after the first knockdown, and the devastating punchers should be able to get more one punch finishes.

The thing I don't like at the moment much is the career mode. I preferred the FN2 way of moving up the rankings, but I think it should be closer to real-life....if you're on the way up you can fight bums, and you don't always have to fight someone of your level. I think that introducing more than one belt would make it too complex, but I'd also like to see more fighters, so that there is a real depth of recognisable fighters. Also, the legends coming in and fighting doesn't suit, even though whupping James toney is always fun And finally....whenever you win the amateur belt, I don't think the champ should always be a fighter of questionable sportsmanship, and that shouldn't be the automatic rivalry.
