Thread: Do your friends like boxing?

I've tried over and over to get my friends into boxing, but they can't get into it. Do you talk to anyone outside this forum about boxing?

Yep.

Quite a few of my friends are in to boxing...but not as religiously as I have become.

Now that I have the boxing theatre set up...most of my bwoy's come over on the weekends now when there is a PPV fight.

Honestly though...I really enjoy this site more than I do my friends company.

Same here, they like it, they come round for the 2am big fights over here, but they don't watch it religously like I do, they'll miss fights and not worry, I on the other hand can't miss a fight. I haven't for nearly 2 years and I don't plan on doing.

Cheers. I'm on the same lines...nice to see that I aint the only one. I can't say that I haven't missed a fight in 2 years...because there is just some crap that I REFUSE to lower myself to watching...but I can say that I haven't missed an EVENT fight or even minor event fight in over 10 years.

No. My friends have parties on the weekends...and they think I am crazy for missing tommorow nights festivities because Sam Soliman is fighting. Call me insane. I jsut like to watch boxing.

Nothing like bailing on social activities for love of the game.

I got a good excuse me-self though...I got a 2 + year old daughter that I throw all my "can't stay out late anymore" lines. Get's me out of a lot of tight spots...& onto the couch watching boxing!

I think I converted one of my friends...at least he watches fights with some regularity and he watched
most of the fights I gave to him...he is not into it like me or most of the people here,but it is pretty
good for someone,who didn't watched boxing at all before...

My friends would not watch at all if I didn't ever rope them in to coming over to watch a PPV fight that I paid for. Even then though, they end up talking through quite a bit of the fight and kind of ruin it for me. (this has only happend 2-3 times--generally i've learned my lesson and just lock myself up in the house and watch by myself---though i can usually persuade my wife to watch with me if it's a big fan-friendly one (Pac/Morales III, for instance)).

I'd like to interject this question...kinda goes along with the one posed.

Wouldn't it be the shit if we all lived within an hour of each other?

I don't think that I could pack us all in the boxing theatre...but we could knockout a wall & all watch the projector from my back yard.

That shit'd be like a drive in theatre...just without driving in.

Seriously though...it would be cool as all get out if we lived close to each other. I'd love for us all to be able to watch the big bwoy's together.

That would be awesome Wack. Like have a big BBQ before the fight and everyone discuss boxing...all the different opinions would be crazy. Lyle would show us a Wlad tattoo. With your connections you would have a couple boxers there yourself. Tito would make an appearance or something...and then we would all watch the fights on a crazy projector. Awesome.

I wish I had a friend who was in to boxing. (that sounds pretty gay, but I am serious. I hate having to come to the internet to talk about boxing. I wish it were mainstream like football, where any dude you ran into could hold a pretty good discussion. )

The thing is...I like it the way it is...it's almost...dare I say...our own little niche in the sports world?
