I really think Erik can still fight at 135lbs. But at this stage of his career, he should pick his opponents carefully. He should start with an easy tune-up and then perhaps fight one of the better fighters there. He should avoid guys like Casamayor unless he is sure he has a chance. I think a good match-up would be Barrios. Barrios in his fight against Guzman showed that he is a wild-swinging, styless slugger which I think perfectly matches Erik's style. If he is careful, he can stay undefeated for the rest of his career.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.

He probably could and he probably would beat most of the fighters there but I would rather he went out now, head held high,I think he has too many wars and it's taken it's toll on him. I think he should retire and enjoy himself.

I just wanted him to retire after winning, which he clearly can, preferably beating a worthy opponent and leaving afterwards as a big winner.

I think the weight was only part of the problem. Even if he moved into a slightly more comfortable weight though, he remains very damaged goods, and I don't see him having a shot against any of the top guys at 135 (casamayor, freitas, diaz); he got dominated by raheem, remember? He just needs to retire.

I'm sayin gthe same thing after his loss with Raheem, he got outboxed and the use his weight as an excuse. He is stronger in that weight no doubt if Raheen try by any means go toe to toe in tha fight he was gonna get KO. I definetly want to see corrales vs Morales at 140 or at least see EM fighting again at least at 135. he will be much stronger because at 130 he looked so dry it was scarier that see COtto at the weight in at 140
