Default Let's predict the Ring champions for each division by the end of 2007

By the end of 2007, the Ring ("universally recognized") champs will be:

Minimumweight - Ivan Calderon - Unless he moves up no one is beating him.
Light Flyweight - Koki Kameda - I'm jumping on the bandwagon now.
Flyweight - Vic Darchinyan - I think Vic will finally get Wonjongkam in a uni bout and take the titles.
Super Flyweight - Nobuo Nashiro - He's only 9-0 but he knocked out Martin Castillo and Arce will move up.
Bantamweight - Jorge Arce - He will move up to bantam and clean out the division once Rafael leaves.
Super Bantamweight - Daniel Ponce De Leon - He'll get a big fight and blast whoever he faces.
Featherweight - Chris John - Hopefully, he can get on TV so everyone can actually see him.
Super Featherweight - Manny Pacquiao - I don't really see anyone knocking him off. Valero and JMM will make some noise though IMO.
Lightweight - Juan Diaz - I think he's the best the division has to offer. Fighting and beating Joel would prove that.
Light Welterweight - Jose Luis Castillo. He'll come back better than ever and he'll beat Hatton too.
Welterweight - Vacant. The way things are going, I think that there will probably three legit champions at 147 by the end of next year. Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams, and Shane Mosley. With Mosley holding a belt there couldn't be an undisputed champ at 147.
Light Middleweight - Floyd Mayweather Jr. He beats ODLH, he doesn't retire, he fights Spinks and beats him too.
Middleweight - Edison Miranda. JT's moving up. Who knows what Winky will be doing? Miranda will get Abraham back in the ring and smash his face in.
Super Middleweight - Vacant. JoeCal beats Manfredo and JT, but he still hasn't fought Kessler yet by the end of next year. Hell JoeCal will probably be trying to fight old ass B-Hop by this point instead of unifying the titles.
Light Heavyweight - "Bad" Chad Dawson. I think he beats Adamek in a close fight then he'll beat either Tarver, RJ, or Glen Johnson to get the public's recognition.
Cruiserweight - Vacant - I think that Mormeck will beat Bell in the rematch but Krzysztof Wlodarczyk will be highly regarded too.
Heavyweight - Sam Peter - Wlad eventually gets Valuev's belt, Peter takes Masakev's belt, Briggs loses his belt to a nobody, Peter and Wlad face off in a unification bout, and Peter gets sweet revenge. This is probably just wishful thinking.

Who do yall think will be champs in their respective divisions?

Default Re: Let's predict the Ring champions for each division by the end of 2007

    Super Featherweight
Manny Pacquiao - Same deal with Diaz but times 2. No one is stopping Pac Man right now.

    Lightweight
Juan Diaz - Diaz is class at 135 no doubt about it imo. Although, Chavez could make a run.

    Light Welterweight
Ricky Hatton - Hatton beats Urango and then someone else. Who? Don't know maybe D-Hop. Fight with Castillo happens at the end of the year with Hatton winning. To much for Castillo at this point of his career.

    Welterweight
Floyd Mayweather Jr. - No one is beating him. Period. I think a fight between him and Mosley happens. I think Cotto holds a belt and I think Margarito is beat by Williams. Don't see Mayweather, Cotto or Williams fighting each other in 07. All stay undefeated.

    Light Middleweight
Corey Spinks - Mayweather beats De La Hoya and then moves back to 147 despite Spinks lobbying for a fight. Spinks then fights Ouma. Close fight with Spinks edging it contreversially.

    Middleweight[/b]
Winky Wright - I think Miranda chases Abraham rather then Taylor, and Taylor fights Mora and then Wright. Wright gets revenge and wins the belt. Don't think we'll see Miranda - Wright this year. Possibly the most interesting matchup in all of boxing though.

    Super Middleweight
Mikell Kessler - Don't think Joe ends 06 fighting Kessler or at 168 for that matter. Kessler wins out including a rematch with Mundine. If Soliman manages to beat Mundine though, he could give Kessler a serious run for his money.

    Light Heavyweight
Tomasz Adamek - In an early canidate for fight of the year I think he beats Chad Dawson. I think Glen Johnson and Julio Gonzalez rematch with Gonzalez winning. Then fights Adamek and loses.

    Cruiserweight
O'neil Bell - No idea who he fights but he is SO inactive that I don't think he fights but once or twice this year and I think he beats Cunningham. Haven't seen Wlod so can't comment on him. If Mormeck gets another shot at Bell he wins, but don't think that's happening.

    Heavyweight
Wlad Klitschko - I think Wlad tries and tries for a Valuev fight but never materializes. Peter beats Toney and Maskaev and Wlad - Peter 2 gets scheduled for early 08.

    That was fun

One problem!! Sam Peter doesn't get past James toney!!

Feather. the only guy that interests me is jmm and looks like he'll fight pac at super feather..

Super feather. Barrera avenges his loss to pac and regains a strangle hold on the division..

Lightweight, Juan diaz If he steps up and beats the big names and/ or unifies a title..
Perhaps a bout between juan and jesus chavez? i would certainly watch, i'd name the winner of that fight the champ

Light welter. Hatton.. Regains the ibf title, beats Jlc is a possible fight of the year and then maybe takes witters belt. If witter is lucky...

Welter.. Most likely to be cotto as long as he faces a fellow big name in 2007..
I personally would like zab to comeback from suspension with a bang and get back to the top and leave his bullshit past behind..

Light middle.. Oscar beats floyd and then fights winky.. Im assuming this would be at light middle since oscar wouldnt move to middle for tito...
if he does move to middle for winky perhaps he would stay for a bout with tito?

Middle.. Miranda seems to be doing big things right now.. Beats abraham, and all other contenders..
Probably not winky wright to be fair.. but winky may try oscar at 154?

Super middle. JT.. Jermain steps up.. Shows the supermiddle weight division what its about and unifies the titles..

Light heavy. Librado Andrade.. Has previously been kesslers mandatory for an age now but so i hear is moving to 175 so fwock kessler and take out and open light heavyweight division.

Cruiser. David haye.. Big bad British boy.. Great chance against any of the top names in the cruiserweight div. right now!.. Have heard rumours of wanting a move to heavyweight in the future thou...

Heavy. James toney. Takes Peter apart, Stops maskaev, shows up valuev and briggs...
Earns incredible money in a bout with vlad.. i personally say a deserved close ud, toney has never been stopped and although vlad is a great boxer i think a fit james toney (and things are going great by the sounds of it) outworks and counter punches vlad out of the picture..
Of course thats five fights right there.. there would be two that wouldnt happen
So i personally would love to see the vlad fight.. since the bout with peter is scheduled.. the winner (james) is mandatory, and then a unification.. If no vlad i'd love to see him in with briggs...
    Peace

    Super Featherweight
MAB - i got faith in the man.

    Light Welterweight
Ricky Hatton - I think hatton ends 07 fighting 3 times with Urango, castillo and witter, all wins.

    Welterweight
Floyd Mayweather Jr. - After the loss to De La Hoya he moves back down beating the soon to be man at 147 (Cotto).

    Light Middleweight
The Golden Boy - After the win over Mayweather he beats winky at 154!

    Middleweight[/b]
Abraham/Taylor - one of these two, Miranda beats either or both and moves up to face better fighters.

    Super Middleweight
Jo Calzaghe - I think he fights Miranda/kessler/and or Hopkins during 07 since Taylors back peddeling.

    Light Heavyweight
Tomasz Adamek/Clinton woods - One of these two i guess, Calzaghe if he moves up takes the spot though.

    Cruiserweight
Haye/Enzo mac - If bell beats haye (haye is bells mandetory after the havy weight circus thing hes taking part in) i think bell moves up, if he losses well, hes not the best.

    Heavyweight
Wlad Klitschko - Big daddy holds 3 of the four by the end of 07.

You're forgetting he's fighting Manfredo first.
Realisticly if he makes just one more fight after that within the year you should be happy.
Chances are that'll be another warm-up type fight agains another Ashira, Salem or Pudwill.

If you are really lucky it could be against the (by many brits) grossly overrated Froch.

Hopkins, Taylor or Wright are still very remote possibilities. But they will most likely fall through due to Calzaghe (Warren) once again grossly overestimating his own value.

Heavyweight - Wladimir Klitschko: Who's going to beat him?
Cruiserweight - O'Neil Bell: He'll be champ for awhile
Light Heavyweight - Wayne Braithwaite: Does the smart thing and moves down to Light Heavyweight
Super Middleweight - Mikkel Kessler: Calzcrappy can't avoid him forever.
Middleweight - Jermain Taylor: One way or another he'll stay as champ
Junior Middleweight - Vacant: Picture becomes clearer after Mayweather-De La Hoya
Welterweight - Floyd Mayweather: Doesn't matter who holds a belt. He's the legit champion
Junior Welterweight - Jose Luis Castillo: Who's going to stop him? Hatton? I don't think so
Lightweight - Joel Casamayor: Should be undefeated and top 10 P4P
Junior Lightweight - Manny Pacquiao: Marquez has a chance, but I'll make Pac the favorite
Featherweight - Vacant: Juan Manuel Marquez move to 130 leaves this division in a sad state
Junior Featherweight - Rafael Marquez: I like Vazquez, but Marquez will not be denied
Bantamweight - Luis Perez: Can't make 115 anymore. This guys seriously underrated
Junior Bantamweight - Martin Castillo: He took Nashiro to lightly. Won't happen again.
Flyweight - Lorenzo Parra: Best Flyweight out there. That's including Wonjongkam & Darchinyan
Junior Flyweight - Koki Kameda: If he fights Hugo Cazares (the champion) he beats him
Strawweight - Vacant: Ivan Calderon and Yutaka Nida will never fight

CC- for recognizing the Ring for what it is-the real championship. The more people who start thinking like this, and the less boxing will be currupted by the alphabet gangs.

I have a BIG problem at Super Bantam... I think Celestino "The Towering Inferno" Caballero, the WBA super bantam champ is the man at this division. He already schooled and mauled Daniel Ponce De Leon once, the only loss in De Leon's record and if they meet again, I think Caballero will do the same mauling to De Leon...

The other problem is, Ponce De Leon is avoiding a unification fight with Caballero...

    Minimumweight - Ivan Calderon
Light Flyweight - Cazares (Kameda got a gift, Landaeta will destroy him next time round!)
Flyweight - Pongsaklek Wongjokawatsit (Longest standing, although Darchinyan will beat him up IMO)
Jr Bantamweight - Noubuo Nashiru (incredible fighter, 9-0 beaten much fancied Martin Castillo!)
Bantamweight - Rafael Marquez (by a mile....)
    Super Bantamweight - Israel Vazquez
Featherweight - Chris John (I doubt for long)
    Super Feather - Manny Pacquiao
    Lightweight - Joel Casamayor
    Light Welter - Ricky Hatton
    Welter - Floyd Mayweather
    Junior Middle - Shane Mosley
Middle - Winky Wright (I think Ring side on Winky in the draw with Taylor, I thought he won anyway)
    Super Middle - Joe Calzaghe
    Light Heavy - Bernard Hopkins
Cruiser - O'neil Bell (Next in line is Haye )
    Heavy - Wladimir Klitschko

    Any disagreements?
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

Minimumweight - Eagle Kyowa, has better chance of unifying with Niida and already beat Mayol
Light Flyweight - Cazares, not particularly impressed with anyone in this division
    Flyweight - Lorenzo Parra
Jr Bantamweight - Noubuo Nashiru, would love to see this guy fight Arce
Bantamweight - jhonny gonzales, now that RM has move up this is Jhonny's division
Super Bantamweight - Israel Vazquez, already ring champ will keep it
Featherweight - Chris John, prob wont leave his safe house unless its for a big payday, if he does JMM KO him
Super Feather - Manny Pacquiao, will get vacant Ring when he fights MAB
Lightweight - Juan Diaz, alot of the top dogs are gone and casamayor(ring) looks like easy picking
Light Welter - Ricky Hatton, should beat Urango and then Castillo for RING
Welter - Cotto, will beat Margarito to unify(WBO,WBA) and for RING
    Junior Middle - Floyd Mayweather
Middle - Jermain Taylor, Current Ring and has %50 chance to beat Winky in rematch
Super Middle - Joe Calzaghe, current RING and will keep it unless he steps up to kessler
Light Heavy - Tomaz Adamek, Nard prob move up
Cruiser - O'neil Bell, still champ unless ring stripes him for inactivity
Heavy - Wladimir Klitschko, will beat maskaev for Ring

Heavyweight: Wlad Klitschko, beats valuev, and none of the other heavies want to risk there nothing belts so he is not knocked off his perch.
Cruiser: Oneil Bell, dont really know and care much about this division.
Light Heavy: Chad Dawson, I like this guy and i think he can beat adamek, then one of the other big names eg tarver or johnson.
Super Middle: Mikkel Kessler, Mundine defeats Soliman, then Kessler defeats Mundine in a !2 round war, just holding on for a close points decision. Where is calzaghe? He fights no names then moves to light heavy chasing hopkins and jones.
Middle: Winky Wright, not sure on this one but i think he will fight Taylor again and just scrape passed.
Junior Middle: Oscar De La Hoya, now this is my rough guess. Floyd is the obvious choice but can a fairy tale come true. Can odlh beat pbf cos he stepped up one weight division too high? not likely but here's hoping.
Welter: Toni Maragarito: finally gets his big match against cotto. Wins in a war and cos floyd moves up he is left as champ.
Junior welter: Jose luis castillo: Defeats ngoudjo, and then corrales again to stamp his authority.
Lightweight: Juan Diaz, top quality fighter who is still young and learning.
Super feather: Manny Pacquiao cos manny is the man.
