"It's frustrating for me because it would be a big money fight, but it's obvious he's just not ready." Meanwhile, Calzaghe will face The Contender's Peter Manfredo on April 7 at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Am I the only one who found that hilarious

Calzaghe, along with many others, is putting way to much stock on his performance against Lacy. Taylor has way more of an upside as a boxer and is too good an athlete when compared to Joe. For someone who has mainly fought stiffs to say Taylor (who has fought 2 of the best pound 4 pound fighter in Winky and Hopkins) is "just not ready" is a hilarious. He might be judging Taylor on his recent performance against Ouma, but lets not forget that Joe didn't exactly look fantastic against his last no name opponent.

Athlete? taylor done fuck all in the first 3 rounds with ouma and claimed he punched him self out. The way he fought v winky he would be in a world of shit if he got in the ring with calzaghe. if winky could punch he would of blown taylor out of the ring that night too.

Very good points mate. Also if he isnt ready according to Joe why dont he just fight him, beat him and add a big name to his record?

Exactly. Cool click! Preme, to be great athlete in this sport you have to be able to knock out your opponents?! Taylor isn't a knock out fighter. He is still young and will continue to improve. He is still trying to find his style and comfort zone and changing trainers doesn't help. Even though he didn't look his best against Ouma...he clearly won. You are not giving enough credit to a YOUNG fighter who fought 2 very difficult fighters in Wright and Hopkins....and won. Let me repeat...he fought Winky and Hopkins! Who the hell has Joe fought in recent years that are of that caliber. Jeff Lacy?! Youth and ability (no to mention experience against great opposition) are on Taylor's side...not Joe's. Not trying to disrespect Calzaghe...but he simply is in no position to make idiotic statement like that.

Taylor did not defeat Winky - it was a draw....

Young? Hmm, 28 years old and 27 fights.... - when will Taylor then be in his prime? At 35 and with 45 fights?

Cool click is soming you 'do' not just say....

Are you asking me if a great athlete always os, or saying a geat athlete can KO? you confused me? my point was, and i thought i made it clear is that a GREAT ATHLETE doesn't punch him self out in three rounds

Ok so let me get this right, according to Joe:

    Taylor: Not ready

Kessler: Not enough of a draw

Froch: Not enough of a draw

    Hopkins: Too expensive

    Johnson: Hand too hurt

Stietglitz: Not enough of a draw

WTF man, Bika, then Manfredo? Really

don't get me wrong I think Joe is a talented boxer, but this is getting ridiculous.
If I used those excuses to get out of work, I would be fired.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Yeah it's priceless.. I suspect Joe isn't the sharpest tool, he doesn't seem to be able to market himself for shit...

erm, has it corssed your mind for a second that by saying he isnt ready, that he aint good enough, that taylor knows he cant handle joe is all the more reason for taylor to step uo and fight him? ask calzaghe who he wnats next and he will say hopkins and taylor. Before Ouma taylor was making us all believe he was moving up to fight calzaghe late 07, after ouma he doesn't mention calzaghe again, if calzaghe wants the fight he needs to be saying shit like this to get it!

wow!!! either that is the biggest diss or possible set up for a fight with Taylor....I'm going with the latter on this one....I think this could be the only way to lure Taylor..and a huge payday for Joe C...he's not going to see the big money until he comes over here.....but I think he's asking for alot...heck ...with the way Manfredo is handling himself lately .. Joe C may never get to find out how unprepared Taylor is....
It feels good to be back home.
