These days everyone seems to want a piece of Manny Pacquiao. When you make it as a superstar in boxing, then it is expected that every other boxer will be gunning for you at the top. What is not expected is that someone outside the ring will want a piece of the Boxer. That is excatly what is happening to Manny Pacquiao. According to a published report in the Sun Star Ph, all the millions of dollars Pacquiao is reported to have won has not escaped the Philippine's most notorious kidnap for ransom group, Pentagon, and its leader Tahir Alonto.

The publication reports the group wants a share of Manny Pacquiao's wealth. The report adds the Gang will do it through the only way they know... by kidnapping.

In defense of Pacquiao, the military with police are now monitoring the Pentagon Gang who are allegedly planning to abduct Pacquiao or any member of his family to get what it wants. According to reports gathered by intelligence units of the military and police, Alonto's group is planning to abduct Pacquiao because they know of his huge earnings in his latest fight with Erik Morales. It was also noted the gang is also after the millions that the Pacquiao earned in his previous fights.

Alonto's group will reportedly go to General Santos City where Pacquiao is residing and abduct him or any member of his family. The group is then planning to demand a huge ransom for the release of Pacquiao or whatever family member they abduct.

In response to all this, Pacquiao stated: "Why don't they ask me for money instead."

This kid fears nothing...

I heard that Filipinos treat him like a national hero. If that happens, Philippines would run against that ransom group.

yea all pac said in an interview is that all they have to do is ask him for some money and with humor stated he hope they won't kidnap him while smiling...pac is known in the phillipines to give back to his people and is always open to give...

this happened jst a few days after the em fight...but til now nothing has happened...pac always get treaten but its almost suicide to try get to him...his a national treasure in the phillippines so military and every officer has to protect him and his family.

His fans do indeed treat him like a superman figure. My sad clicks in the last week mainly come from suggesting that Barrera would do much better than Morales in a rematch and could very possibly win. I like Pac, I really do...but screw these fanboy obsessives!!

I just cannot do boxing without being a little objective and having a little sense of perspective....Pac is great but some rematches are called for in order for him to be cemented as being clearly the best IMO...

Yes you're right. He is the only athlete in our country who regularly receives 'Hero's welcomes' everytime he comes home after a victory abroad. We have a lot of fine athletes but the government never spend time and doesnt focus on them because they wont any publicity if they does. Manny Pacquiao is such a charismatic person he pleases everyone. And because of that he is being used by these corrupt officials. That may be the reason this group hates him.

But I dont think he is avoiding Barrera my friend.. His trainer has also stated that they want Barrera next in line.

Im not having a go at Pac there because I havent suggested he is avoiding anybody. All im saying is that with the 2 rematches done and dusted then that decides it all for me. If Pac can beat them both then he is undoubtably P4P the finest boxer on this planet. I just happen to think MAB will be the big tough test. Could well be wrong and Ive no problems with being proven wrong, just as long as the best boxer wins on the day.

I think Pac: Barrera might be a little bit huge....what do you mean?

He live in Mindanao, a place where terrorists routinely kidnap people, sometimes even foreigners. It's no joke cuz the security in that place is almost nil. Even rich folks with personal security personnels gets ambushed and kidnapped there once in a while. And even if you get security personnels yourself, you can never be sure if they're really for or against you. That's the situation in those places - it's really dangerous. Hope our government assign him first class and trustworthy security people.
