Default Where to now for 140?

Not so long ago this division was arguably the strongest in boxing. all at once we had huge stars like
    Mayweather
    Hatton
    Tszyu
    Cotto
and also other top class contenders such as
    Mitchell
    Corley
    Oliviera
Now not much more than a year later those big names have either moved up or retired and the division seems weak and has no depth. I wanna know who can save this division which now seems to be a place for lightweights who cant quite make weight and pretenders. The only meaningful fight i can see is Castillo v Corrales again.

There is still a lot of talent in that division

    Castillo
    Corrales
    Hatton
    Ben Rabah
    Witter
    Harris
    Sor Nanthachai
    Holt
    M'Baye
    Kotelnik
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I've lost my liking for this divison too... I mean Corrales has not decided where to fight yet and so that would mean Castillo v Hatton would be the biggest fight. Any other potential match ups that REALLY excite? Not for me unfortunately...

It's wierd. Just a year or so ago there was no division with more potential. Hatton, Cotto and Floyd all fighting there. Now it's just a place for overweight lightweights or a subway stop to the 147's. Now 140 just isn't exciting anymore

I've always dug on 140lbs...but now that all the stars made the jump to 147lbs & Paul Williams has made a statement...it's time to be like George & Weezy & move on up with them.

That being said...from the start to the finish...160lbs is the division for me. Always has been...probably always will be. With fighters like Eastman, Hopkins (moved up), Pavlik, Wright, Sturm, Taylor, Abraham, Miranda, Duddy (even though I aint a fan), & Lorenzo at the forefront of the division...it's easy to see why.

147lbs is going to come alive in 2007 & give the bwoyz at 160lbs a run for their money.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!

If Hatton has some catch-weight fights after Castillo (should he win) then the div will be sunk.

I reckon he'll finish at 147 to be honest.
