He should stop before he gets badly beaten, age has got to catch up with him eventually.

    Good luck to him though

CC, on the news. To be honest, I've always died to see a Winky - B-Hop fight. It was the fight that was supposed to happen before Jermain beat B-Hop. I don't wanna see RJJ. JoeCal would be nice but I think JoeCal is way too active and his handspeed would make this a mismatch at this point in B-Hop's long career.

I am glad he will be facing 1 of those 3 fights becasue with the exception of Jones the other 2 cant really cause him any harm they will beat him because of his age but he wont be damaged, and Roy wont commit to any real damaging punches, he will stay away from Hops all night. So dont worry people he will lose and retire again without any real harm done to him and i will be ok with that. I just wish he would enjoy his life outside of the ring and stay a retired legend in his own time.

Nerr No way my brother... Bernard out hustles and shows up joe calzaghe anyday.. He'll do it at 52 :P lol
Winky great defense is the hardest fight there but bernard uses side to side movement parries and rough ( mostly illegal ) Tactics.. and is so well considitioned so can do it all night so its not an impossibility..
And although we all worry about how much roy has left.. He's left the loosing streak behind and he'll always have that style and maybe bernards number..
Lol very short paragraph though lol.. i was looking like wheres the rest of it..
You think b hop has given up on oleg?
    Cheers bro Peace

It'd be a shame if he has given up on Oleg, that would have been a great fight for him to retire on. Out of those 3 I think the best option for him is Roy Jones. I think Calzaghe beats him as long as he doesnt break his hand during the fight and after stepping up 2 divisions to light heavy and having prepared for another step up to heavy weight I dont think moving back to middleweight is a good idea (and surely Winky wouldnt take the fight above middle). So that just leaves Jones - a bit past it but still a big name and a win that Hopkins would still get a lot of respect for.

It doesnt really matter who he could/couldnt beat at this stage.

He has more than firmly secured his legacy and should just stay out of the ring.

He no longer has a point to prove, after moving up to light heavy and beating tarver.

He is also financially secure from what i know.

I dont wanna see another great fighter become some washed up brain damaged old man.

B-hop is one of my top 3 favorite fighters. I really wish he would retire though, he cannot top the Tarver performance, IMO, it was magical, for lack of a less gay word. It was just great. I'll tell ya one thing though, if he fights Calzaghe, he'll knock him out.

honestly i dont think hopkins should come out, but he has said hes gunna fight again so he has to...

what makes me laugh is the people who say he will Ko calzaghe.. this isnt a post from a "i love clazaghe fan2 its from sum1 who has seen so many of his fights..

people who think hopkins will KO joe don't know fuck all about boxers outside the usa. lacy was a big hitter and joe walked through them all! forget tyhe fact calzaghe totaly batterd him, lacy did land some good clean shots and never once did calzaghe looked like they hurt. watch the eubank fight it wasnt untill the 12 round, after alot of shots thrown and landed did eubank make calzaghe clinch, and eubank no matter what his age landed some very clean and powerfull shots!

brewer was a big hitter and put clazaghe down, but even then clazaghe gt back up (and fast) but carried on never looking like he was shaken or really hurt. hopkins is a good fighters and has a good hit, but if you think he culd ko him your off your fucking face

I think Bernard CAN beat all 3, I think he'd beat RJJ every day of the week at 175, I think he's too strong for Winky, but the underdog against Calzaghe purely on styles.

Not saying Hopkins would KO Calzaghe but you can't compare it to Lacy. Lacy's power is way overrated, he is a strong puncher not so much a KO puncher imo.

I think anyone who says Calzaghe would beat Hopkins or Tarver, don't know a damn thing about boxers from the USA. Their both, Hopkins especially, a class above Calzaghe. Hopkins in skill, power, experience, you name it. Tarver in weight, power, talent. They'd both beat Calzaghe fo sure. Tarver more likely by KO. But Hopkins could KO Joe, I think he would in the later rounds, or least counterpunch him to an easy UD.

Honestly...I'm in agreement...but if he does come out...I'd want it to be against Wright, Sturm, Taylor, Calzaghe, or RJJ...but please...not Maskaev.

I go back & forth on the Maskaev thing. I konw why Nard wants it...but in the end...win, lose, or draw...Maskaev aint worth shit...nor is his title. The fight merits nothing.

A match against Wright would be for bragging rights & also might be one of the most exciting fights to a purist such as meself.

Sturm...just because I have always wanted to see it. Everyone falls once...it's the getting back on the bike that does the career justice.

Taylor...goes without saying...I think he won the first fight...& he could win the third if he just worked hard enough for it.

Calzaghe...keep him from breaking your title defenses...why else? The fans would want it.

Roy Jones jr? Ehhhhhhhhhhhh...I guess so...for nothing else but to right the wrong all those years ago.

Doubt that Bernard would KO Calzaghe. Joe's got a damned sturdy chin & the grit & will to get up offa the mat. I've seen him do it before two or three times...I think...maybe just two. Can't remember exactly.

The thing with Calzaghe & Hopkins is that it's not a cut & dry match. I'm a fan of both...& Hopkins style could be as much or more of a factor as Joe's speed could. The thing that people seem to underestimate is Joe's accumulative power. He's not a knockout artist...but his volume is dizzying & he's often right on the button.

That being said...not in a million years do I think he could TKO the Nard...but with the same output in the Lacy fight...he could easily outpoint him...but...then again...Hopkins will counter just as accurately as Joe will unload...so that kinda goes out the window there...don't it?

There you go. You just went & did it didn't you? You just had to go & do it. It's just fans showing their unyeilding devotion to their favorite fighter...you know what that's like...so don't act like you don't. There are plenty of us that know boxing outside of the U.S., it doesn't break down that simply...it's just rabid fandom taking over for some of the eager beavers.

Joe could run his record ragged for another few years coupled with the Lacy performance & some half assed opponents if it were a perfect world...but it's not...& fighting the RSC (Reality Show Chump) that's next on the list.

I loved the Eubank fight. That was a toe to toe war right there...quite possibley...I enjoyed that more htan the Lacy fight in retrospect due to the fact that there was some competition involved.

I agree...I don't think that Hopkins is set in his power anymore or of late...but it's highly likely that Joe could outpoint the Nard...but he'd have to be a lot sharper than he was against Bika.

In all truths...I think that Calzaghe would slaughter Tarver & Taylor.

If that equates to me not knowing a damn thing about USA boxing...so be it.

Tarver is in no way shape or form a class above Calzaghe.

Hopkins is a totally different animal. You just never know what your'e going to get with Bernard of late. I've not seen him fight the way he fought against Tarver in almost 4 years. He hadn't hammered anyone out that hard since the beating he laid on Joppy.

Sure Bernard has pulled shut outs & clinics & what nots...but nothing like what he did to Tarver.

Tarver has proven in the past to be an underacheiver...almost unmotivated. Calzaghe is just the opposite. Speed & volume & completely awkward...

It'd be an easy night with Tarver & a ruff one against Hopkins.

i would prefer if jones fought calzaghe and hopkins fight winky. its easier for hopkins and i think calzaghe would have more trouble with jones than hopkins
