Vargas! I thought Vargas looked a step behind after the Tito fight in his next two opponents but after the weigh in for the first fight (canceled due to injury) I thought he would kill Oscar. He came in for the second weigh in and looked fantastic also (due to steroids). Oscar was getting his ass kicked at first but I believe that was his greatest night ever.

I still think Tito beat the shat out of Vargas so bad that he was never same....ditto with alot of opponents,Tito beat them first,Oscar fought and beat them after and got more credit for it unfortunately.

The thing with Oscar is that although he ALWAYS fought the best,he didn't always do well against them.. I loved the first Mosley fight which Ssm deservedly won(Oscar won the second imo but it wasn't as exciting) and I loved the Quartey fight(again Oscar won but this time most though Ike won). Those 2 really really stand out.

I guess if you asked Oscar though,he would say Vargas,after all the shat Vargas was talking,that must have felt good shutting him up"

yea i agree with all the comments, i probably think it would be the vargas fight, or almost definately trinidad if he got the decision

My most favorite fights of Oscars were Quartey, Whitaker, Gatti, & Mosley II. I was sitting ringside for that shit & Oscar was robbed, saw that first hand...I just couldn't spot the gun.

I hate it people...but he was robbed.

The Campanella fight was a nail biter too.

The way he tore Gatti apart was incredible, because Gatti had the iron chin back in those days, The Vargas KO was sensational, and for 8 or so rounds he was beating the then great felix trinidad, but even his first few pro fights were sensational.

Oscar's greatest fight by far is the Ike Quartey fight. They were both undefeated and even though I had Ike winning the fight 114-113, the sheer determination that Oscar showed in the 12th round was amazing, he needed the round big and he went out there and got it. With that showing, I was OK with the decision.
