Thread: both winky wright and roy jones would fight hopkins for 50-50 split

i havent got the link sorry but just see this and wright would fight hopkins at 168 for 50-50 split and roy jones said send him the 50-50 split and he would fight now what do you think of this guys ??

I think Hopkins would love all this attention. He thought he was one of the top three PPV attractions when it was just Calzaghe after him.

i think he'll wait to hear if jc will except a 70/30 split lol

I think that the Nard's got an open date in June or July...but 50/50 aint in his frame of mind.

calzaghe should fight for free if it means getting the fight. he beats hopkins in july and that would leave winky, taylor, RJJ even miranda all possible fights for him, would be a hell of a way to go out imo

Agreed...but ego's being what they are...Calzaghe vs Hopkins will be highly unlikely...espescially due to the fact that Joe's lined up for the Manfredo debacle.

the noise from warren was they were looking to secure a fight with taylor around june time this year anyhow (honestly belieev thats why hes fighting manfredo) realisticaly he should be looking to make easywork of manfredo, there should be no reason why he can't fight in july unless he busts his hand.

That'd be 3 & a half months...pushin it to 4.

Remember what happened when Joe had initially agreed to the Lacy fight? He was in mid training or ready to fight Ashira & fwocked his hand during the fight or something like that...I'd have to hunt it down via article...but the fight was delayed & honestly...that aint enough time to promote that big of a fight.

A decision needs to be made by Bernard by February at the latest to promote that big of a fight.

Wacko what do you want your favorite fighter to do? I love B-hop and I'd like to see him stay retired myself. But if he must fight, I say any of the three, Winky, Jones or Calzaghe would be great fights. I think he would beat Calzaghe for sure myself.

Honestly...this is gonna contradict everything that I say & stand for...but lately...I'd love to see him right the two wrongs.

I would love to see him beat Jones ass & then Taylor's...because...for some reason...I just think that he could.

He's on a mental high after kicking the shit outta Tarver & now...for some reason...I just think that he wouldn't let up on Taylor like he did when he took it to his ass in round ten of the first match...also...watch that Jones fight...it wasn't the stretch of a loss that the commentators made it out to be...while Lamps was choking on Jones sack...he neglected to touch on the back pedaling & pot shotting that Jones was having issues with now.

Hopkins is a totally different fighter now...he would take Jones down IWO.

I love both fighters, Jones and Hopkins. I think Jones is still fast enuff to give Hopkins issues, and outbox him for the decision. I also don't think that Hopkins power would play into the fight enuff to KO Jones, or make him fight scared. Though if B-hop were to land that great straight right hand that sent both Robert Allen and Tarver to the canvas, he might rattle Roy. I see Roy throwin some punches, using his speed, and clinchin some, like the Badi Ajamu fight. Really a Hopkins vs Jones fight probably wouldn't be action packed, but it'd be a hell of an event, and a chess match. Also may I ask, why the hell is Roy Jones on "Pros vs Joes", he's better than that damnit. Does he not realize that fellow pros: Jose Canseco, former UFC Champ Randy Coutre, Mario Lemieux, all have something in common, THEY'RE FUKIN RETIRED!!!
