Its official GBP, has stated that due to promotional issues, IBF Welterweight Champ. Kermit Cintron has been withdrawn from his February 10th title defense against “Sugar Shane” Mosley.
Mosley will still proceed with his HBO-televised fight that is scheduled at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and his a new opponent will be announced sometime this week.
As it was reported last week, Kermit was having issues with his promoter Bobby Bostick over money that Cintron claims is owed to him for the fights he had against David Estrada and Mark Suarez. This matter was not helped when it was revealed that a lawsuit was looming from Kermit's former promoters, Main Events, over who should has the rights to promote his bouts.
Former WBA Welterweight champ. Luis Collazo, who was the original choice for the bout, was shot back in the picture when GBP learned of Kermit's issues and more important, the possibility of being dragged into a lawsuit if SMM met Kermit in the ring.
