Thread: Will the HW division be unified by the end of 07?

Does anyone think that the HW division will be unified, and have one champion by the end of the new year? Who will it be?

I doubt all four main belts will go to one man by then but maybe one or 2 guys will hold two each.

I thought they were going to be unified by 06?! It's been a messy year,with titles changing every fight! I expect Klitschko to have at least 2 of the belts by 07.

I expect Wlad to beat Maskaev or Brigg easily enough. I'm hoping Valuev can hold onto his belt long enough for a big unification showdown with Wlad.

Also it's not out of the question that the winner of Peter Toney will get another title shot this year probably against Maskaev, but you'd fancy both of them to beat Maksaev or Briggs if they fought.

I've got a feeling 2008 will start with Wlad and Valuev holding belts, along with either Peter or Toney.

to be honest id like to see some new fresh talent that are hungry and will train to the best of there abilitys but i dont see that happening for a while saldy

I agree. yeah wlads the best around but i think a few good fighters would make it interesting again.

Yeah Klit will grab either Maskaev's (WBC) or Briggs's (WBO) belts
Valuev will prolly be fighting overweight girlscouts.

I'm not sure if Wlad will be able to "unify" without being stripped of one belt by the stupid sanctioning bodys, and I don't think he will be able to beat the 3 current paper champs within this year. I do think, at some point, he will be be the recognize, undisputed champ, even if the the WBMorons or IBFwookers manage to make the situation difficult. I think by spring of 2008, he will be the only real champ.

I think by the end of 07 Klit will be the IBF and WBC HWC and Valuev will be then WBA and WBO HWC with a total unification sometime in 08, to many belts, to many mandatories for someone to totally unify in 07 IMO + like someone said, to many new champions who wanna make a few bucks with a few easy defenses rather than growing a pair and trying to unify

Sure, in the based on his skill and recent performances, but he needs to clean up the division to be the unified, undisputed champ. He's not quite there yet. I'm guessing he does it by 2008.

All these mandatories are a joke. There really needs to be just one international boxing group.

Anyways. Not a chance. Valuev fights no one in 07. Briggs loses some mandatory, and Maskaev gives it up to Peter. But no way do we have 1 or even 2 belt holders. The only one actually looking to unify is Klitschko and no way he fights 3 champs in one year. Valuev is just a joke, I think that by the end of 07 people start excluding him from the group of 4 just because he doesn't fight anybody.
