difficult call i think i was thinking bout this fight myself actually this morning and thye way i see it is that guzman maybe to much of a fast target for valero and not give him time to plant his fight and put as much power into his punchs and it would all depend on how guzman could keep the pace up cus if he slowed a little in the later rounds it would be lights out i think
Guzman has great handspeed and footwork, but Valero's power is real. Great matchup. Great fight because Guzman has a macho streak in him too to stand and trade. That would probably get him knocked out. I'd say Valero TKO 10 or 11.
it is a tricky 1, sny other views? i personally cant call it i havent seen enuf of either fighter, although i have been impressed by guzman of late although the stoppages aint been there
all depends on guzman i think if he can stop away and pick valero off with out getting drawn in a close battle with him hell be ok all depends on if he can keep up a high pace over 12 rounds to upset valeros rythem and not let him get his power into his shots
Yer pretty much agreed. It is a tricky one without doubt IMO, just i see Valero catching him though especailly as Guzman enjoys a good tear up now and then.Originally Posted by albsur2006
nobody can, only pac can dethrown himself as of now. but if valero beats some better oppenent and guzman does too, then that's when I will start to consider them legit contenders against pacs reign, plus don't overlook mab and jmm they are still around. valero and guzman may have to get pass those two first, and that will not be easy they are real elite level something both guzman and valero hasn't have a taste of just yet.Originally Posted by warreng
but to give out a name that may give pac the best competition, jmm can. as for now velaro or guzman I won't and cant say they deserve the credit of considering them beating pac. only jmm deserves that. and he may well do it, if the pacman allows himself to slip a bit.
Actually, Guzman has the best shot to beat Manny. Manny can deal with size, we all know that, but I haven't seen Manny fight a fighter that's faster than him with arguably faster hands. That's saying something because Manny's hands are hella fast but Guzman's might be faster or at least just as fast. Guzman's balance and footwork is better than Manny's and we all know that even though Manny is chasing #1 P4P, Manny still has horrible balance problems, leaves his chin out wide open after throwing flurries, and still hasn't developed a consistent defense against an orthodox fighter's jab. That's why he most likely will never never be #1 P4P. I'm not fooled by the Morales fights. Guzman would get off first and keep Pac off balance. Pac's sheer raw determination will push him through but if Guzman can deal with Manny's punching power then Manny will be in for a long night. Guzman is the most dangerous fight to take. Barrera IMO doesn't have anything for Manny. Marquez is a great boxer but he looked markedly slower against Jaca, if he comes like that against Manny trying to show he's got more balls, Manny will eat him alive. Valero could knock out a bull but he does look a little undisciplined in the ring still. It's funny because everyone is raving about Manny fighting JMM and Barrera again, but IMO Guzman and Valero have the best shots at beating him.Originally Posted by BoxingGod
Guzman has a really good chin he took a few monster bombs from an overweight Jorge Barrios who we all know has dynamite in his hands, and just smiled. I think Guzman may counter Valero all night, and even if Valero lands clean, if he doesn't knock him over the Joan will throw a big shot back and just stand there and trade, he's got that wounded tiger quality, I think all round Guzman has too much to just be blasted out, therefore i give him the edge.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
we may see soon if your right about guzman and if pac may never be number one p4p...now since mab and jmm is scheduled guzman maybe next for pac, that was what top rank wanted instead of mab and jmm anyways...so pac v.s guzman maybe soon this year...but I still believe jmm has the better chance beating pac because he has experience the hell an oppenent has to go through fighting pacman...guzman maybe good but he will surely be tested and tested real real hard...if he folds under the elite level of pac guzman will be very vulnerable to a brutal punishment.Originally Posted by albsur2006
as for velaro, I don't think his ready for pac...he may have power but pac does too and pac has delt with power well recently and valero got drop just a few fights ago by someone that doesn't have half pacs power and speed. valero should get some better names under his belt then maybe in 08 pac vs. valero will be a good fight I'm not yet sold on valero.
back to jmm and guzman and pac may never be #1 p4p, you say its due to pacs bad balance, no I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with his spot, he keeps winning his eventually gonna be #1 p4p specially now that pbf say his going to retire after oscar fight, so do you still think pacs not gonna get spot 1, pbf may just hand it to pac if he retires. pac beats jmm and guzman and valero and even mab even with bad balance he will get spot one, even with a open chin, he would have to lose not to get spot one so yea its not due to the bad balance its due to his accomplishment and way of whooping a$ses. untill some1 whoops his ass even with bad balance he will deserve spot one. to whoop him your gonna have to handle a whooping something jmm delt with so I think jmm has the best chance until guzman proves something like that to me.I don't think he deserves the credit yet considering him beating pac.
