Default Valero Ready to face Pac

    Edwin Valero disses Manny Pacquiao
By DHB (Jan 4, 2007) Photo © German Villasenor
Edwin Valero's popularity keeps rising in sensational fashion that could soon easily over take the spotlight on Manny Pacquiao. Also known as "Doug Fischer's Son," Valero's impressive record involving first round knock out victories is not something to take lightly.

Many insiders not only believe strongly that Valero would easily defeat Pacquiao, but Pacquiao is making excuses not to fight Valero because he is in fear of the extremly popular and heavy hitting Valero. Case in point,
earlier this week in Tokyo, Valero took only 72 seconds in scoring another impressive first-round knockout win. After his quick win, Valero took aim at Pacquiao and challenged him to a fight.

Valero made his intentions loud and clear, and dissed Pacquiao for being a cab driver type: "I want Manny next. I hope Arum is listening. I don't want to hear Manny a lot of excuses to fight me this time. If our fight will happen, he will realize that he too is a cab driver."

Valero, made the cab driver remark in reacting to an earlier comment made by Pacquiao. Pacquaio called Valero's opponents tricycle drivers and then went on to avoid Valero's past challenge.
Looks like Valero's Team changed their mind that they needed 3 more fight before facing Pacquio. They want the Macau fight after all. as long as Arum doesnt mess this up, Pac has a dance partner now. Somes getting Knockedout, i think who ever lands the clean shot 1st wins.

but seems like PAC doesnt want a piece of Valero. Honestly I'm a little disappointed with PAC right now
I honestly would like to see PAC fight Valero and Guzman may be JMM and MAB for toppings then retire, but looks like PAC is going to the wrong direction.

Valero is not ready for PAC, it would be an entertaining fight, but one at this point he can't win IMO, PAC will smack him silly to a mid round KO. He has only fought 31 rounds and is now in his 5th year, most guys have that many rounds under their belt in 2-3 years.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

i would say he needs it for guys like guzman, Mab or JMM but i dont really think he needs alot more experience against pac. Valero seems content to just go for the easy KO and with Pac his ganna get his chances.

Here's the thing...it's painfully obvious that I aint a Pac-Fan...so I think that I can unbiased offer up a fairly decent arguement here.

#1: Valero does not yet deserve a shot at Pac.

#2: Pacquiao deserves a break. He's fought Larios & Morales back to back...& honestly...let him fight someone of lesser caliber.

There's no one out there worth really fighting other than Harrison, JMM, Barrera, & I guess Guzman...another one on who I aint 100% sold.

    Pac's doing fine.

At first I taught Valero was not ready for Pac, but after watching a couple of his fights (not much to look at) I think Valero chances against Pac are pretty good. Mainly cuz he looks a lot bigger than Pac. Valero has been at 130 is whole career. Pac has only been there for 5 fights. 3 were against the same fighter (Morales) and 1 against a fighter who moved up two weight classes to face him (Larios). Pac has a lot more championship experience than Valero. But I doubt that will bother Valero. Valero did go into Panama and beat Vincente Mosquera in front of a very hostile crowd. Both fighter love to come forward. So it should be bombs away from the start. Can Pac take the shots from the bigger Valero? That's the one big question that will decide the outcome of this fight. He took Morales and Marquez punches. But those guys are not natural 130 fighters. Valero is. I haven't decided on a outcome yet. But Valero's chances are not as bad as I originally taught.

It's obviously to soon to sing the high praises of Valero...he hasn't fought enough and more importantly he hasn't fought game opponents. However, there is no denying he has KO power. The only reason i wouldn't completely dismiss him against Pac, is because Pac's style allows him to get hit...and i'm not sure if Pac could take huge punch from a naturally bigger guy with big power. But most likely, Pac's speed and experience would easily prevail.

Good assessment, I completely agree, But I really think Valero would knock him out.

Valero is not ready for Pac and there are bigger fish to fry for him...I don't think Pac fears anyone...Though ( and this is some inside limited info) I understand Pac turned down an offer of 5 million to fight Cassamor and Cassamayor offered to move down to Pac's weight?....Never know

That was a smart move. Casamayor would destroy Pac

It is better for Pac to fight Valero now while he is still sort of green

I'm one of the biggest Valero fans here but no way should he fight Manny now. His stamina is questionable,he does not box like he can and it would be a HUGE jump in class...but

He is the biggest fighter Pac's faced,V nom is MASSIVE for a 130 pounder,he hits much harder than anyone Pac has faced and is young and hungry. If Valero waits, gains more experoence, may be fights someone like Juarez, see how he goes, thenI think he will be ready. Not yet though,NO WAY! He would be dangerous for 3-4 rounds, would wait to get his wind back and Manny would KTFO Valero in the middle/later rounds. However,Morales,JMM have shaken Pac to his boots,Valero hits much much harder than them both.

Yeah for some reason Joel does not like him?...While I weas interviewing him before the Corrales fight all he kept talking about is Pac?....He would answer a question the go into some remarks about Diego the wander off to Calling Pacquiao every name in the book and then some....None I could put in print though

daxxkahn, you interviewed casamayor? that's kool mann, I think its because casamayor always wanted the style of career pac has now that's why.

but about valero vs pac, after k.oing another unknown fighter I am surely not sold on valero. so his calling out pacman now huh think his mister big shot, I`m not impress at all because what valero has done to the very weak oppenents he has I bet pac will do the same if not worst.

valero being a naturally bigger fighter I think will look good for pac after pac ends his hype, I have been saying valero should wait but since his talking shyt I hope pac grants him his wish and punish him soon, but I think its better for valeros career to wait til next year atleast because it`ll be a better fight then now.

valero may end up like vargas all the hype but once in with the elite hype over.

wow that article is sure making it seems pac is actually afraid of valero. I think once the philippines media starts looking at valero, pacman will tune in to valeros challenge and valero needs to be carefull with what he wish for.
