    Default The boxing banker

I have not been following the board as close since New Year's Eve. I'm slowly getting reacquainted so this question may have been posed...

I was looking at the The Ring rankings and noticed that Calvin Brock is not in the top 10 heavies. John Ruiz is, but Calvin Brock is missing. Is this because he lost to Wlad? I don't understand this...

Well he hasn't fought since losing to Wlad I think Ring is really wondering about how he can come back from such a defeat....but he especially since fighting Wlad is a SOLID top 10 guy

I think Brcok is more skilled then Peter, to me Peter is still the big puncher 1 punch KO guy as where Brock can crack and his skills are better then Peters....

Would make for a interesting match up....

    Cool click Mick !

You are correct .. Peter is super Raw. piss poor balance, piss poor technique.. but he have the Midas touch. he can graze you and get your attention.. and he has a busy work ethic for big guy . you wont see Sam clinch in fight.

Brock is ok , but just nothing special, not sharp with his punches, his form is not all that good for a guy that been doing it as long as he has. he could be in much better physical condition also .. a smaller HW needs to maximize that advantage. and if your not in prime shape you just selling yourself short and can't take advantage of those assets. . I see Peter just clubbing him to death.

Peter win say 6th R KO ? maybe 8 ? Just my opinion

I will add that Peter looks to be improving in his last fight against Toney, he was putting combos to gether and looking for hooks and body shots which is something we hadnt' seen from Peter.

Well they must know something we don't because the rating system is a carefully thought out process. It is used to rate fighters in an unbiased way. Giving each a fair chance to rise in the rankings and get their fair shot at the title. John Ruiz is a welcome addition to the rankings..As a former multi time champion and gentleman both in and out of the ring his place is rightfully deserved so what he lost his last fight. Brock has one loss on his record in a failed attempt at a title. So what he displayed heart at his attemp. So what the sport needs more guys like him...He is a loser!!!! The Quality ranking system created by the authorities of our sport have dubbed it so...How can anyone question this fine system? ...As you can see by the footage of hours and hours of pain staking work being done by the members of this board.....

    .................

I'm sorry I tried to keep a straight face but...I keep looking at UnBiased and Quality and when speaking of the sanctioning bodies of the sport and their names being associated with such phrases just make me laugh!!!

Actually Lyle, dontcha owe me a week's worth of coolclicks after that fight? I believe our bet was that I believed it would go past six rounds and you thought it would finish within six rounds.....

Anyhoo, I reckon should warrant a place in the top 10, especially if John Ruiz is there.
