Sure is, he has gone through the divisions, he probelly should quit before he
gets brain damage which comes out in middle-old age.
Why he wants to stay in the game as long as he has is unkown to me.
He is a great fighter, but I don't think he knows when to quit, just like Ali.

At this moment in time, I think so, yes...
Yep. his to old, to small and to slow to face the drednoughts of the HW's.
i thought he was gonna save the heavyweight mess guess not![]()
Yeah sadly it is...Hey he has had a great run...Nothing to be ashamed of...Toney just can't get into decent shape anymore and I see the worse part of it all...He can't pull that trigger like he needs to...He can't kO these guys he has to get them with volume...Toney doesn't seem able to do that..You can't lay around trying to counter what you can't reach....I hope he knows it's time...IMO he does but Toney being Toney will not admit to that

im not so sure. i seem to think that maybe toney trained a little too hard this time! he is 38 yrs old, thats not the time to start training hard in your career. he was much more effective when he was fat the first time. i almost believe that what he said was true, " ITS NOT WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE ITS WHAT YOU FIGHT LIKE" and i dont think anyione could argue the fact that he did alot better the first time when he was fat. i say drop billy banks or whatever his name is and be james toney again and prepare for fights the way he nows how. one more i think to really determine whether he could still be a force in the division. i would still pick him over briggs and alot of other guys out there.
That is not the gut of a man who trained like he should have trained, and it's not like Toney has never trained in his career. Time to hang it up, but he won't.Originally Posted by cjm2681
Yes....as I have stated many times before James Toney slurs his speech almost as bad as Holyfield or Bowe
I really don't think that Toney was that much worse in this fight. I think Sauel Peter has improved that much.
"If there's a better chin in the world than Pryor's, it has to be on Mount Rushmore." -Pat Putnam.
BTW,Toney's comments after the fight suggest the possibilty of some brain damage. Talk about disrespect. Peter, on the other hand, was a breath of fresh air in this era of trash talk.
70 plus fights in the modern era is too much, not to mention putting your body through the abuse of over-eating and then trying to shed the extra pounds time and time again, so yes, IMO he should retire.
Yep it's time to hang 'em up.
Toney was tired and as always speaks to fast for his mouths best interests...I dont think he has brain damage.Originally Posted by Ted The Bull
