Who of our era makes hall of fame..
There are many i believe are in already..Many will disagree with me..
But there are so many fighters that are always on the borderline.. or perhaps just let it slip While on top and have probably missed the cut.. Here's a few i think...
In
Oscar de la hoya
Felix trinidad
Bernard Hopkins
Roy jones jr
Marco Antonio Barrera
Erik Morales
Manny pac
james toney
Theres so many more but when they are in..They are in. we all know the living legends who deserve it like the ones mentioned above.
Borderline
Feel free to disagree but i feel depending on how they either finish theyr careers and/or what they do who they fight these are the ones that need to make theyr mark and drop themselves in the definate list.
Jose louis castillo.. Already a great fighter, Many great fights..But the possibilities for future big bouts are still there and im sure he'll impress..Always out to fight the best..
Ricky Hatton.. We all know he's good.. But still young and still needs those defining fights.
Floyd mayweather...In all logic..He should already be there..I dont know why but there is always a feel about floyd that we should expect more and more and more from him..Maybe its the way he talks about himself or whatever..But a truely great fighter who has stacks of big names on his record and is likely to have more..But he does lack the defining fight..This may well be it in may..
But who knows if he'll ever get the credit he truely deserves.
Arturo Gatti...Some find it laughable that gatti should be considered a legend..I find it totally realistic that a man that has put his blood sweat and tears into the boxing world and helped shape the boxing world for years to come..Set the standard for entertaining fights for the next generations of fighters.
I feel that too many people are too hasty to put down a man who fights first and foremost for love of the sport and they dont appreciate that people get beat..Ive never expected a fighter to be undefeated to earn my respect..Too many people want to follow the young guys that are good looking and have spotless records that have been spoonfed perfect opponents..But arturo truely wanted to fight em all win or loose to make his legacy what it is today..
The thing that makes him borderline to me though is..His defining fights for recognition was micky ward trilogy..But.. Micky was never truely on the very top tier..Both were big hearted tough fighters..
and arturo fought some of the best..But never really had a defining fight with a Big big name as a winner..
Ive typed myself out for the moment and tried to keep it short and sweet so i can let you all gimme your opinions and add your opinions on how your favourite fighters fare in the battle to become a hall of fame fighter..And I look forward to reading your responses.
Peace all.
