Breaking News: 'Bam Bam' Bigelow Passes Away
Written by Ryan Clark on 01/19/07 at 4:31 PM

WWE.com has learned that former WWE Superstar Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow has passed away in Florida.

Kevin Doll, the Public Information Director for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Bigelow was found dead early this morning in his home in Hudson, Fla.

"We can confirm that Scott Bigelow was found in his home this morning. At this time the cause of death is unknown," Doll told WWE.com.

Doll also confirmed that the Pasco-Pinellas Counties medical examiner has taken the body and an autopsy will be performed.

Bigelow, 45, worked for WWE, ECW and WCW extensively throughout his 20-year sports-entertainment career. A former ECW Champion, ECW Television Champion and WCW Tag Team Champion, he is perhaps best known for his rivalry with Lawrence Taylor that culminated in the main event of WrestleMania XI in 1995.

Stay tuned to WWE.com as more on Bigelow's passing becomes available.

More On The Passing Of 'Bam Bam' Bigelow
Written by Ryan Clark on 01/19/07 at 6:11 PM

Kocosports.com broke the story of the passing of former WWE Superstar Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow earlier today. They have a few more details on his passing that WWE.com didn't report. Sources close to Bigelow told Kocosports.com the he had been missing for several days. And as noted before, he was found dead this morning in his home in Florida by his girlfriend around 10 A.M when she woke up. Furthermore, police are currently treating this as a crime scene.

Many of Bam Bam Bigelow's friends and colleagues contacted WWE.com to share their feelings on "The Beast from the East." They have comments from RVD, Tazz, Paul Heyman, Jerry Saggs, Tommy Dreamer, Ted DiBiase, Mean Gene Okerlund, Howard Finkel, Jimmy Hart, Jake Roberts, Joey Styles and Gregory Helms. Also, it looks like WWE will be adding comments from more wrestlers throughout the day as they get them.

On WWE.com, there is an article and a photo gallery looking back on his lengthy wrestling career.

you just summed up almost exactly what I was going to say myself, he was big but he could move, jump well, and his airborne moves always looked seriously damaging to me watching him as a kid. F**k, I even sneaked out of the house at 1am when i was 10 to watch him in a Wrestlemania at a friends house. A true star and may he RIP.

As true as that is or could be, WWF/WWE is a big part of mine and many peoples growing up, these guys give us a lot of entertainment, thats a pretty big brush your tarring him with, I'd pick my words carefully when talking about recently deceased, you might offend someone.

Your right man, I guess it says quite a bit, a lot of these guys are role models for kids growning up, if the kid hasn't got much imagination then they are going to turn out something pretty similar, its seems ridiculous to some but just watch Jerry Springer or Violent Demise

RIP Bam Bam Bigelow. He was one tuff crazy sucker. He had some good wrestling stories too. Like the time that Andre the giant sat on this dude to pin him, and had diaharra, and shat himself all over the dude. And every time he moved, more squirted out. Lovely story I know. But in the interview I was watchin with Bigelow, Bigelow sure was havin a good time tellin it. So I thought I'd share it with you guys.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
