IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham will make his next title defense in the spring it was announced today. Abraham, who is recovering from a broken jaw following his win over Edison Miranda in September, stated "During the first three months after the jaw break, I couldn't do anything at all. As a result now I'm missing a few things physically, but I'm making good headway and notice that it's getting better day by day." For Abraham, almost as strenuous as the training under Ulli Wegner are his media appointments. The 26-year-old Berliner is a sought after man. "Directly before a fight it is difficult to accomodate all the press. I'm using this relatively quiet phase now for the PR-work," revealed the champion. Tomorrow Abraham is doing a one-hour autograph session, and on Saturday he and Wegner will be guests of honor at the opening of the new Rocky film. On Monday he'll hit the Berlin Velodrom for a six day cycling program Abraham calls "Back to the Roots" - in his youth he was a racing cyclist.
