Default Put your predicitions to the Test

    Fantasy Boxing Championship

A couple of my friends and I have started a biweekly boxing pickem league. We choose from 9-10 fights to pick that would be happening on a given weekend. We set up matches between ourselves to make it interesting. Here are the rules and an example of how fights are picked and scored.

    1. How to join?
-- By going to http://forums.mmaweekly.com/forums/f...iew.asp?fid=36 and signing up for an username and then posting in the FBC 3 thread that you want in. I know it's a Mixed Martial Arts message board but they have a boxing forum under Other Sports where this takes place. To avoid any of the MMA stuff just book mark the Boxing section to keep up to date with events. If you sign up and can not find the boxing forum make sure you click Show All Forums.

    2. Who do I fight?
-- you can 'challenge' someone or have your league President match you up with another fighter from the league.

    3. When do I fight?
-- The FBC usually runs on a biweekly basis granted there is enough fights to run an event.

    4. How do I fight?
-- you submit your picks for each event before deadline (exact fights used will be posted by the President)
-- fight winner, method and round (ex: Tyson / ko / 1) TKO and KO are scored the same.
-- submit your picks in 'lock order'
-- Lock order will be easiest to hardest (your most confident pick to your least confident)

    5. How are my fights scored?
    -- 3 points for each of your choices (Tyson/ ko / 1)
    -- by 'lock order'
-- if 8 fights are used your most confident is worth 8, your least confident is worth 1.
-- score every fight 'winner'correct and you get 10 bonus points

sample of submitted picks and different scenarios:
    (Tyson being the 'most confident)

    8. Tyson / KO / Rd. 1 = 17 pts ........Tyson wins the first by KO in the 1st Rd exactly like you picked so you receive 8 Points for Lock Order + 3 Points for picking Tyson + 3 Points for Picking KO + 3 Points for picking the right round

    7. Hatton / Decision / Rd. 12 = 16 pts ........Hatton wins by Decision so you get 7 Points for lock order and 3 points for everything else being right

    6. Peter / KO / Rd. 3 .....Peter wins by Decision so you would get 6 Points for lock order plus 3 points for picking Peter so 9 Points Total

    5. Ali / KO / Rd. 2 ....... Ali loses the fight, you get no points at all

    4. Holyfield / KO / Rd. 5 ......Holyfield wins by KO in the 3rd, you would get 4 points for lock order + 3 for picking Holyfield and +3 for the right method.

    Etc.

Your total scored will be matched against the fighter you are fighting in the Fantasy Boxing Championship, the one with the highest wins.

Come prove to these Mixed Martial Arts chumps that they know nothing about boxing! If you have any questions feel free to contact me at GBWSkills on AIM or e-mail at Skills662@hotmail.com Thanks and I hope to see you in a FBC ring soon.

Naah man, I think we got the two best pickem comps here. Between the genuine Saddo sponsored one, with Ricky Hitman Hatton prizes, or a boxing sub, that's an awesome incentive.

And then there's killersheep's fantastic sportsbook, which brings the betting aspect in as well, it rocks.

Too many comps just takes up too much time IMO. But thanks for the heads up.
