    Default Who are you?

I figured I'd try something a little different here. Basically, just tell everyone about yourself. No bullshit needed, just stuff like location, age, what training you've had, etc. I'll start, and look forward to the responses.

My name is Derek. I live in Norwell, Massachusetts. I'm 22 years old. I've been worked as a Security Officer at a chemical plant the last few years, but recently moved up here from NC. I now work full time for the town Highway Department as a laborer and part time at Taco Bell to increase the cash flow.

I started training when I was about 18 when I took some Boxing classes while in college. Unfortunately, I was too poor, and that didn't last more than a couple months. However, my love for the sport hasn't died. I do my best to train myself. Last year, I began training for a few months with my Lieutenant (when I was a security guard). He was a very accomplished blackbelt in Kempo Karate (the real, full contact competition stuff, not the McDojo crap) and had trained for about 4 years in BJJ, one whole year of which he spent under Helio and one other (Rorion?) Gracie.

Right now, I do my best to study study study tapes, and pass on what I know to my brother (20 yrs old, no experience outside of my teaching him). We do a lot of sparring at his house, along with other friends who know arts in one form or another, and have a bit of a fight league going on (basically, we drink, then we fight...all very professional and friendly, but very sloppy due to the liquor). I feel good doing this, because I can see his MASSIVE improvements already (even if his boxing still sucks...he doesn't look comfortable doing this, and he recently told me so, but he is improving bit by bit).

Very soon, I hope to join the South Shore Sportfighting gym and begin competing in amateur MMA bouts. I basically do everything for love of the sport. I have no hopes of being the best, but I love the sport and love competing. Win or lose (thankfully, a lot more wins than losses), I enjoy myself, and learn every time.

I don't expect everyone's to be as in depth as that, but I'm just interested in knowing a bit more about where you guys stand in everything and learning a bit more about you all. Appreciate it guys, and remember...BE HONEST. If we were that good, none of us would be perusing a boxing forum to talk about MMA.

    F it....why not....here's my myspace as well:

I Mirko. I 33. Work in goverment. Have big left kick.

ok, ok.... name is confidential, (like I'd want YOU freaks to know my name. Freaks! ) but....

male. 33. 6', 195. killer left hook thanks to my power puncher 2000. I invented it.

    married.

    one son Owen.

born in St.Catharines, Ontario, work in Ann Arbor, MI, live in Canton, MI. Soon to move. Not sure where though.
used to be a chemist at Pfizer with a masters degree in organic chemistry but I found out they're closing the site in the summer. 2500 employees out the door. Basically, we're f'd.

Have always loved boxing and the ufc. Tyson was my hero. Been hitting a heavy bag for a few years to kill stress. Thought I knew what I was doing but didn't. Decided to take some real lessons and have now had formal training in boxing for one year. No plans to fight anyone but the wife. Too old. Do it to stay in shape and gain an indepth knowledge of boxing, just in case I have to kick someone's ass in a bar fight. Next on the list is Judo. But with cash flows about to cease, that might be on the shelf until the next life.

I'm a part-time student doing an MBA at Marist College in Poukeepsie, NY. I want to acquire control of Pfizer and fire the guy who decided to close our site. Jeffrey Kindler is the saint's name.

I own my own business doing painting on the side (www.freewebs.com/mjmpainting) which might soon become a full time gig while looking for other work and doing more classes. The platform in the portfolio is mine. I made it for myself. 25lb of solid red oak.

C'mon all...no need to be shy :P Nobody is going to make fun of you on here. I'm more curious about everyone's training then anything else. Even you lurkers. If you have no training, just say so. Very curious to see where everyone stands. And just because you haven't fought doesn't mean you don't know about the sport, so don't feel like you shouldn't post if you don't train, and don't feel you shouldn't post in this thread just because you aren't one of the more active guys (or gals).

Nick, 56 yrs old, live in Framingham, Mass. and am a retired cop from another town (33+yrs). I boxed when I was a kid and got into the martial arts in my late 20's. Studied Chinese kenpo for about eight years and got my black belt. Went back to boxing when I was about 40. Also studied modern arnis and muay thai. I recently started in BJJ and study twice a week. I work out every day and go to a boxing class two times per week. Gotta lot of free time now, trying to keep busy.

I'm in a light infantry unit based out of Fort Polk, but grew up in Tx. Married with two small children. I did some boxing growing up as well as wrestling. I've been training in submission grapppling as well as mixing in an overall mma repetoire(striking) for the past three years. I've competed in a number of submission grappling tournaments and hope to compete in the All Army combatives tourney in Nov. I've also been in half dozen non sanctioned mma fights. I also have been looking for a good Judo class locally to work on my throws.

Gareth, 1 Month short of 30 and 5'11 and 155ish. I'm a IT engineer for the National Health Service in England. Currently in the process and buying my first property - should be mine in 2-3 weeks . I did some Karate and TKD in my teens and tried my hand at BJJ until a back injury ended that . Lifted weights from 16 to 26 ( bench press max 105Kg) but a series of wrist/Elbow/nerve problems meant I had to give that up to. I play football ( soccer) for a local team and have played that sport since I could walk. Always wanted to try boxing but never got round to it mainly because I was unsure how I would do - I'm quite short sighted! Been a fan of boxing since the Eubank/benn fights and a MMA fan since UFC 2

My name is Josh. I started up an internet company in the early 90's and then sold out my share to my partner for several million pounds. I have a house in London, the Seychelles and also Detroit (this is because I am the leader of the biggest street gang there and I like to hang out with my homies. That's it. Don't have to like it. Why am I talking. In. Small. Sentences) People think I may die early, but predictions of my violent demise are exaggerated.

I like cars and have just bought a Bugatti Veyron, which is now parked in my large garage, along with all my other supercars. Sometimes I let my mom drive them when she is not passed out drunk in her trailer. Sometimes we play footballer27 in the woods.

I am agreat fan of Mikkel Kessler as I have a crush on him and would like him to make tender love to me. He is like my royal family.

I am unmarried, but am going out with a few supermodels and also a girl called Emma from Derby.

I have a black belt in twelvety different martial arts and am about to go pro as a boxer. I am a monstor for my weight.
