Default Despite all I've said against old fighters...

Watching the ali-frazier fights bring a tear to my heart when comparing them to today's heavyweights... Our slow pondering brutes are so lethargic and boring that I can't believe people even watch the division anymore. However, Frazier was very quick, and tireless... he made Hatton and Pacquaio's pressure fighting look tame, and Ali well he had some speed behind those hands... effortless combinations... incredible chin he was chin so cleanly by that left hook so many times I thought his head would fall off. All these fights had ruthless body work, head movement, footwork, fast hands, punches in bunches, heart, and everything else that makes boxing special... For those who haven't watched their fights I suggest you do so. And while you are at it watch Leonard-Duran, Leonard-Hagler, Hearns-Hagler, Duran-Hagler, Ali-Liston I, Ali-Patterson I... I thought the fights were in fast foreward when I first started watching boxing, but their not... They actually use that much foot movement... Incredible.

it is sad that todays heavyweights only do enough to beat each other, but they didnt do anything to raise the bar. Ali wanted to be and became the best. Louis fought to be and was also the best. Frazier, Charles, Patterson, Marciano, Foreman, even Tyson and others all went the extra mile to be elite and didn't settle for less

Valuev would beat Ali, Foreman and Frazier all at the same time with one hand, blindfolded.

    OK...

    Im kidding..

he'd need both hands against Foreman....

Frazier and Tua are about the sme height..and Tua is better than Frazier.
Here's Tua Lewis where Lewis embarrased Tua..
Valuev is almost 1 FOOT! taller than Lewis.....think about it..
    Valuev/Frazier....come on.....please,,,,,.....really....

    Quite simple really.
Valuev doesn't have 'half' of the skills that Lewis had.

Agreed If a prime Lennox Lewis was around Valuev would not even be a topic....Neither would half the division...

The first time Lewis fought a guy bigger than him..(by one inch)
he had ALL he could handle! Even tho' Vitali is as akward as a baby giraffe he still man-handled Lewis like the limp d1ck he is.
Valuev would terrify Lewis. All the things that he built his successes on won't work against Valuev.

    Reach
    Height
    Longer Jab
    Strength
Weight in clinches and pushes ,holds
    Heavier hands...

    Oops Plan "B" ?

(I can say all this with confidence since Lewis is retired! LOL
If he unretires to fight Valuev once he unifies the Titles..I may have to re-evaluate..)

Now in all honesty (don't tell anyone I said this I don't want to lose my title as the forum's official Valuev campain leader)
Big George had VERY heavy hands. Dont know why...they just were.
AND good wind, punch output, chin. Threw punches from any position, hooks cross uppercut ALL hard. Not just a long straight right hand to hurt you with liek Lewis or Wlad. He at 250 is probably stronger than Valuev physically, Very thick natural core strength. When hit, Valuev puts the earmuffs on and bends down to the smaller guy he's fighting.Dumb. I think George would pound and KO Valuev at the skill level he currently shows...............But I never Said it!

Both Lewis & Vitali would beat Valuev.

landmine don't ou realise that the ONLY fighter that Valuev has beaten with credibility is John Ruiz.
    Do you not see that?

Credit to Valuev for his record and being the WBA Champ. but talk about stretching things out.
You not only stretch things out you rip them off and continue to run with it......

It's really absurd how you compare Heavys who stood the test of time vs. Valuev whos still on the rise.
You are now comparing Lewis who was the Undisputed Heavy. at one time vs. The current WBA Champ.

And to be honest I don't think you're Valuevs campain leader, I think you're Valuev himself.

Absolutely right. Many fighters of the good ol' days were much better than the ones today. It's just that most fighters now are pampered just too much and turned into brats. There are no more boxing ethics of the old where they had to watch their weight at all times, where boxer's worked out throughout the year unlike many boxers now who go on training just before the fights and back to boozing and partying after that, and most importantly, they were forced to fight mandatory opponents whereas now they're fights are 'managed' by their managers and promoters to make them look good.

But as to Valuev beating 'em all... well...
just establish a new weight class called the Monsterweight - that should clear up the mess.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.
