Default Shobox New Genration, always so terrible?

This is terrible, novices. How does this crap get on TV on a Friday night then there's two top notch cards on the same night.

Show time has the worst annoucers. They are soo boring. HBO and ESPN are so much better. Even if you get a dull fight on HBO, the commentators can still make it worthwhile.

Shobox is awesome. It has featured some of the best prospects in boxing. I don't think boxing fans really realize how many top fighters have been featured on Shobox. Look at this chronologically since Shobox' conception.

    Leonard Dorin
    Luis Collazo
    Michael Johnson
    Kermit Cintron
    Jeff Lacy
    Francisco Bojado
    Joan Guzman
    Rocky Juarez
    Zahir Raheem
    Guillermo Jones
    Ruslan Chagaev
    Alex Arthur
    Scott Harrison
    Dominick Guinn
    Nate Cambell
    Kid Diamond
    Carlos Quintana
    Ishe Smith
    David Estrada
    Jameel McCline
    Robert Guererro
    Sechew Powell
    Grady Brewer
    Paul Malignaggi
    Juan Urango
    Mike Arnaoutis
    Sam Peter
    Eric Aiken
    Ebo Elder
    Courtney Burton
    Cornelius Bundrage
    Kendall Holt
    David Diaz
    Kelly Pavlik
    Yuri Foreman
    Allan Green
    Andre Berto
    Chad Dawson
    Joel Julio

And it has had current prospects like the Dirrell's, Peterson's, Chazz Witherspoon and Jean Paul Mendy. I think there is a case to be made that it has been the best boxing program out there since it's conception in 2001. A lot of these fighters have lost on Shobox. They always make fighters step it up a level and a lot of good fights have came from it.

Don't know who's fighting tonight but this show is great.

I agree with amat. Showbox is indeed awesome. Good place to watch unheard of prospects.

That was 2001 Dorin. The Dorin who beat Augustus that year and got robbed of a win against Paul Spadafora.

ESPN is good also and I would never knock FNF. Great series with a ton of great fights. I just like Shobox because it showcases prospects. It's really groundbreaking really, I mean look at that list. With the exception of Michael Johnson, all of these guys were on this show before really making it big. And sure I'm stretching for some like Burton and Ebo, but I put them on because they had an awesome fight, a fight of the year contender.

And they picked up on guys like Collazo and Quintana years before anyone else did. Collazo snuck up on a lot of people in the Hatton fight but he has fought on Shobox 3 times before that. He even lost once. Sechew Powell fought the toughest fight of his career prior to Ouma against a fairly unknown fighter named Grady Brewer.

ESPN is great and all, but they showcase a whole hell of a lot of old fighters trying claw there way back up. Look at the fight tonight, Quiles and Cambell. Great fights normally no doubt but still, they don't showcase the future quite like Shobox. I really don't see how anyone could have a problem with Shobox. It's a great show.

SHO BOX commentators are not as good as Al Bernstein and company on the Showtime Championship Boxing series .. but it beats the hell out of HBO’s Boxing After Dark with Max Kellerman mocking Lennox Lewis the whole night , making him feel uncomfortable all the time , Kellerman is an annoying cunt . I think Lewis should give Kellerman a nice FIRM bone cracking handshake before the next broadcast, just to say , Don't be fucking with me tonight . !

Kellerman is an asshole but he knows a whole hell of a lot about the sport. He reminds me of Jim Rome except I can actually listen to Kellerman...

I like shobox too. They USUALLY put on very competetive fights. They mostly put two up and comers against each other. I ain't knocking FNF, but usually you have an up and comer fighting some guy that had a weeks notice. Shobox does quality matchmaking. Every once in a while there's a stinker, but everybody gets those.

Yeah but not as much as he thinks he does.. Kellerman is more opinionated then fact all, if you know what I mean? He goes out of his way to be an asshole... your right about the Jim Rome likeness . Remember when Rome kept calling Jim Everett Chrissy Everett over and over again and Everett repeatedly asked him to stop, but Rome continued, even though Everett threatened if he did it again he would not stand for it. , Rome persisted and Everett finally lost it and knocked Rome off his fukin chair . I loved that moment ! laughing me ass off on that one ! Id like Lewis just to open hand bitch slap Kellerman the next time he comes off with one of those smug remarks challenging Lewis's play by play commentary .

Shobox has disapointed me many many times. A LOT more than ESPN FNF has. Occasionally there will be a good fight or a couple good fights on Shobox, but usually not. FNF rocks most of the time! Like tonight FNF fukin rocked! And Shobox blew.

"Call me Chrissy one more time"
    "Ok Chrissy"

Next thing he knew Rome was wearing his table as a seatbelt. He also put out a hit to any IHL league hockey player who would rough up Gordie Howe when Howe played a shift at 69. Howe then called Rome and invited him to the game saying he would personally kick his ass. Then he threatened a law suit and Rome backed off. Gary Radnich told a story once that the two were at the ESPY awards in LA and when Howe went into the room Rome was in, Rome ran out of there with his tail between his legs scared of Gordie Howe. I wouldn't mind seeing Rome get roughed up again. And by a 70 year old man would be priceless.
