Wladimir has prooven himself the best by loong way and the other title holder are avoiding him to save themselve from having the worst lose in their life

But remember the whole of boxing will go down if wlad retire

........ No? Don't see any reason why this is even being brought up. Sam Peter has greatly improved and I really doubt he's scared to fight Wlad again... Valuev has said he want's to fight him as well.. This one wouldn't be very competitive imo but it's still a big event for boxing.. I don't doubt Briggs and Maskaev have little desire to fight Wlad... But eventually they will have to retire themselves if they don't take a big fight... I haven't heard much about Maskaev and whether he is still fighting Peter or Vitali next, anyone know anything bout this?

and miss a chance to unify when he is in his prime ?? and he still hasnt faced valuev even though i think wlad will win easy he still needs to face him and he hasnt proven himself the best quite yet still needs few wins like win over peter in rematch + valuev and win over briggs maybe then if he wants to retire go right ahead but i dont see point of him retiring yet when he is so close to proving himself the best and unifying the division

Why should retire this is a daft topic when he has big fights out their Sam Peter 2,Briggs,Valuev and if he does'nt retire Toney

Absoluetely not, he wont get the respect he deserves until he starts to unify the belts. Plus Im sure he'd like a few more big paydays. Why would he even consider quitting?

He should get his ass in the ring and fight Sanders again. Why is he so afraid to redeem himself?

Its possible at some point but right now theres bigger fights for him and hes got his sights set on unifying.

Only thing is with Wlad in my opinion is when im watching him is i don't feel confident in his chin i feel a good wallop off his opponent and he will be reeling all over the ring or going down if Peter had had more boxing ability and could move well round the ring he would have stopped him in the first fight.But now he is improving as a fighter and his boxing ability so a 2nd fight makes my mouth water and this is a good reason i don't want him to retire and don't think he should but this time Peter stops him and that will set up a massive fight with his brother Vitali who will want to beat Peter for Beating his little brother same as he did when Sanders kicked his ass

Wlad has a small legacy..This is the time to cement a firm one..

Now hes a top champ.. Not a legend nor a hall of famer.. He needs the big fights that are right in front of him and he needs to unify

I doubt it. I bet he avoids Sanders like the plague. He would have a lot more credibility if he took on Sanders again and actually defeated him. He could safely sit back then and call the first outing a fluke.

klitschko still has big fights out there. for starters theres valuev. peter is deserving of another shot. how about sanders again. how about avenging the loss to brewster.

klitschsko to me although a well schooled boxer is so vulnerable. whose to say that if he fights peters again he doesnt get knocked out. hes not proved to me that hes the best by a long way by any means what so ever

its a no brainer. if he retires now he has no legacy......

Sanders retired once after beating him, he fought his brother bang out of shape too he was not the same sanders in that fight. Wlad should have blocked that out now facing peter when he did should have exorcised any demons does no one remember how alot of people were talking about peter as a devastating puncher and i know a lot of people saw him as the saviour of the division.

i thought peter although short and stocky would rip wlad to bits but i was wrong. sanders does not now belong in the same ring sorry guys

No, Sanders is not retired. He may have retired briefly, but as soon as he saw what a pathetic free-for-all the HW division is, he put the Yodels down and began to fight again:

Good post but I disagree about Briggs not wanting to fight wlad. I'm not sure if it was wlad or his team but it was their side that didn't want the fight last year. Briggs obviously went on to win the WBO title but in the shape he was in, he would not have beaten wlad unless he would have gotten a lucky punch in.

I think wlads team didn't want their guy in there with such a huge puncher while he was on his way to rehabbing his confidence and career. Turns out they would have had an easy night and now there's a chance Briggs can be a more dangerous fight for him down the line if Briggs is right about his claim to have better medication cause he can afoord it now. Although judging by what happened with the Iggy fight, it doesn't seem true.
