Why is Vince Phillips still fighting?

He is fighting for the USBC Light Middleweight Title against Damone Wright on 4/17/07.

How are these guys even getting a title shot?

Combined for 2006 these guys are 0-6
Phillips's last fight at Light Middleweight was in March of '05
Wright's last fight at Light Middleweight was in April of '06 (in an 8 rounder that he lost)

Vince Phillips is 43
Damone Wright is 39

Someone explain to me how this happens.

I guess my point is . I would rather watch a fight with Vince Philipps at 43 ..win lose or draw Phillips is going to give a solid effort.

That don't really change nothing, dear. Smith stills sucks and Phillips is still old.

And Smith didn't win that fight either. He didn't do a thing to win that fight except make the fight sloppy and make it look closer then it really was.

Powell landed more punches then Smith in every round of the fight and landed the same amount of power punches. I don't often go to punchstats but this one really tells the whole story imo. No way Ishe won that fight.

And Phillips is old but he's still a name and can put on a fairly good show. Honestly I'm shocked that he's 43 though. I would have guessed him to be 5 years younger.

Whether or not he will give an effort is besides the point, he and his opponent are both on losing streaks it is unjustifiable to give either of them a title shot. EVEN THOUGH it is just the USBC title.
