    Default Miranda vs Hopkins

Following Hopkin's comments that Miranda was his natural successor and the he still has not retired, is there any chance that they could make this fight, maybe at Super-Middle?
Miranda is the number 1 contender and they may not want to risk his potential in a fight with Hopkin's. Also Hopkin's is basically after cash and at the moment Miranda doesn't pull enough in. But if Miranda was to beat Taylor then it would seem the fight to make.

If and it's a BIG if Hopkins doesn't turn old before this potential match-up then he cruises to an easy W. You cannot beat Hopkins with power alone; his defense is too good. Hopkins would frustrate Miranda over and over, making him look sloppy and amateurish. Hopkins would get away with his illegal blows and Miranda wouldn't. Hell, Hopkins might even KO Miranda after taking advantage in all the holes in his game.

    Hopkins would eat him alive....

It would be unfair if this fight came about any time in the next year or so....
It would be like putting in BCDawson against Tarver.....

Do you want to see Miranda taken apart and broken down the way Glen Johnson was or would you rather he continue his career without that happening Hopkins named Miranda his successor but I don't think he thinks Miranda would beat him(only by knockout and no one knocks out Hopkins) so, Miranda wouldn't.

Like Pantera Miranda and think he puts a spark in boxing with his excitement and power, but I think Jermain Taylor beats him, even though I want to see Taylor get knocked out I don't think Miranda's ready for him.

Because Dawson would grind Tarver into a gritty paste, right? I hope everyone realizes the Tarver myth is OVER. He can bounce up to heavy if he thinks he's not done, but once he feels that heavyweight punch, like he was saying once Hopkins feels that light heavyweight punch, he will crawl under a rock. Or maybe he'll smoke one...

No, because Dawson gets lazy and gets caught and dropped by punches he should never be hit with, for as impressive as he may look Tarver would knock him out. Dawson makes a lot of mistakes. He has great offense but his defense always slips and gets him caught, and someone with Tarver's power would catch and knock him out, and then we have to listen to him all over again

All good points made and I'd have to agree. Given his ability and future development how good could Miranda be?

Yeah, but Dawson is a young pup yet and after getting clocked by Adamek en route to a one-sided victory I bet he is even more eager to shore up his defense. I say Dawson pounds Tarver's body a few rounds and then it's irrelevent what punches he gets caught with in the later rounds however few and far between they may be.

Yeah i agree with you that Miranda has so many holes in his virtually nonexistent defense that Hopkins would easily win a UD and could quite possibly knock E.M. out. Hopkins is a defensive genius. Miranda is just testosterone in it's physical form. He's a brute; a great technician/strategist like B-hop would kill him.

Problem is Tarver only needs one shot. I hate his guts but he has a killer left hand and I can't debate that.

Yeah, he does. But I'm going to say Adamek hits harder and has better stamina.

Better stamina yeah. But not a better counter puncher or boxer nor does he have more power in my opinion. At least from his last fight with Dawson he didn't box that much, he looked like he was coming forward searching for one shot(and finally got it)

Dawson looked good that fight, he looked pretty good, but that lull in defense would have you on the edge of your seat if he fought Tarver, it's like watching Terry Norris fight, you keep waiting to see if he gets out of that round without his chin being tapped.

Taylor has holes and he 'beat' Hopkins.
Miranda at this point in his career has been with equal competition if not better than Tayor was when he stepped up and faced Hopkins. Now Hopkins is two years older. I'm not saying Miranda would win, but how can you count him out so quickly?

Easy. Taylor has holes. Miranda has HOLES. Miranda is almost on par with Mayorga in the amateurish department. It's his power that has people talking, not his defense, coordination, balance, etc. You negate his power, what else does he have?

Taylor has power, but he also has some mobility and a ton of heart. If it weren't for his heart Hopkins may have KO'd him. What happens if Hopkins gets Miranda in that kind of danger?

Lazy is the wrong choice of word here, inexperienced is more like it....
Hes working on things and learning but I've said this before he better learn quick cause hes already a World Champ. and from here on they only get tougher then Adamek.....
I still think the kids gonna reign supreme there and once he has more experience under him my moneys on him regardless of who he faces....
Hes no RJJ, not even close but he is BCDawson....

Well said, I mean I remember all the talks about when 'Tito' used to get dropped in almost every single fight he had when he was coming up and how people would say he wouldn't do much to his lack of defense and yet.....
So IMO, BCDawsons knockdowns are apparent and are there BUT I think hes smart enough to deal with the situation and move forward and continue to win as he has up until this day.
