Default Could Judah-Cotto & Hatton-Castillo Enhance Floyd's Legacy More Than His Fight?

It just occured to me that if Floyd wins May 5th, his legacy could be even further solidified by him not even stepping into the ring. If Judah were to somehow beat Cotto, AND Castillo wins over Hatton, this would be two of Floyd's victims who would knock off two of the biggest names in boxing. Basically legacy is ultimately defined by your opponents. Roy similarly stopped getting grief and criticism for not fighting Darius M. after Julio Gonzales went into his backyard and beat him. If Floyd, Judah, and Castillo all win, even as unlikely as that seems, Floyd haters may as well kill themselves because he would be launched into the boxing stratusphere forever.

It's possible, but styles make fights. Example= Lewis beat holyfield, who beat Tyson, but alot of people still thought that Tyson would beat Lewis. Floyd might be the most hated man in boxing, so, if he didn't beat that fighter, someone will come up with an excuse why he's not better.

Hatton has a resume full of D+ fighters...and maybe 3 C+ fighters.Cotto has to beat Zab,winner of the Margo fight, and probably someone else.Floyd has already hinted that he will fight Hatton.

It hadn't occurred to me, good point.

Lets just hope Judah, Castillo and Floyd all lose so next year is dynamite at welterweight.

I don't think Judah can beat Cotto. Cotto gets in trouble sometimes but he seems to get better everytime he fights. Hatton would beat Castillo cause of the vicious body attack. Now Hatton and Cotto would be a welter weight version of Pavlik Miranda. A true knock out slug fest.

I think Cotto hurts Hatton at welterweight we would need a catch weight.

its been said before but it's so true that i'm gonna say it again. STYLES MAKE FIGHTS!! so if castillo beats hatton and if judah beats cotto doesnt necesarily mean that mayweather would beat cotto and hatton aswell simply because he's beaten men that won against them.

yeah man i would feel a lot better about a cotto vs hatton if it was made at a catch weight. hopefully they both win in june and could fight each other before christmas.

I would love to see Cotto v Hatton, been waiting for that fight for so long.I think if they agree on a catch weight Hatton would take it,but at welter I really don't know,Hatton loves to brawl inside, and to me his style is terrific, some people don't apreciate it but to me he's like a little B-Hop,frustrates you with his grappling tactics but he's very skilled at doing it,big heart and stamina.I see a lot of flaws in Cotto and many people gets pissed cuz I'm a puertorican but I dont praise Cotto like everyone does.Hatton at 140 kills Cotto,at 147 Cotto at 147 can hurt Hatton to the body.I thought that Hatton didn't had a weakness but I discovered that well placed body shots maybe it in his fight against Urango,so let's wait and see what happens with JLC,I think that Castillo can take this one in the bag.

If I remember right Hatton has only ever been stopped once and that was due to a body shot, so he then learned the importance of bodyshots and became a great body puncher. So yeah, thats his biggest weakness and Cotto would take full advantage of it.

BTW welcome and have a CC!
