Looking at two prosepects not too far from major league status, I wonder who has the best shot at being a major player within the next year.
Jason Litzau, got chin checked two fights ago but hasn't looked bad for more than a few rounds his whole career against limited opposition. If he would stop clowning around like he's Sugar Ray Leonard I might find him harder to dislike. With a defense like that will he ever be champ material?
Panchito Bojado went from being ESPN's prosepct of the year to being on the undercard on telemundo after a long inactivity. He won his last fight against a decent opponent and for flashes looked like a dynamic fighter for flashes but he doesn't have the stuff to fight well for two straight rounds. If he can put it together one more time, the 140 pound division is open for another contender.
Antonion Escalante. Maybe with the proper trainer he'd learn to box maybe just a little. He had Mauricio Pastrana out on his feet multiple times but had too many strategic flaws to not fuck it up. So much talent but I have yet to see him throw one single counter punch. The next Juarez with a little heart? or Ponce de leon light?
What are the biggest young X-factors that will make an impact in the next year?
