Thread: Vic Darchinyan to fight Nonito Donaire

Vic Darchinyan has a July 7th Showtime date set, tenatively in Las Vegas. ....... has learned that the challenger will be Nonito Donaire Jr., 16-1 (9KO's) of San Leandro, CA by way of General Santos City, Phillipines.

Anyone know much about Donaire? Any sort of threat to Vic?

Just checked, Vic beat his brother on the undercard of Corrales - Casamayor.

Anyways, know nothing about the guy but I hope he KTFO's Vic, and he's from the Bay, let's hope for a sound KO

Seen him a few times. Slick, fast, and has a little power. Could give Vic some fits, but haven't seen his chin tested the way Vic will. He's a good fighter, but still a little raw, and or green to be fighting Vic.

I've seen him fight. he's a hell of a boxer with very fast feet and hands,

Vic is my favorite small guy but this guy has all the tools to outbox him....will be interesting

I hate Vic. I want to see him fight your boy Pongslakek just because I would not mind seeing either lose. I would probably root for Pongslakek though, at least he doesn't have a mouth.

Duuuude,I'd be rooting for Pongsaklek hardcore!!! I have heard Nonito is a good fighter but I don't think he'll be able to take Vic's power. I hope I'm wrong though,if he stays smart,keeps the fight on the outside,hands up,uses a jab,he should do well.

I think Nonito will probably do fine the 1st few rounds.... But once Vic gets in there he'll finish Nonito off.

Well not only was Burgos smaller Burgos up until that fight he had been fighting once a year since 2004 loosing one of those fights. He was also waaaayyyyyy past his days and someone with 14 loses and having fought once in 2006 had NO BUSINESS getting in that ring with Vic.
