....hmmmm I think RJJ had better timing but KT couldn't have been bad at it
The greatest showing of his power was the ko of zab. Seemed effortless yet dropped zab with ease.
He stalked his opponents like no one i have ever seen, he didn't waste his energy throwing wildly in the hope of landing a big blow and if you look at the Gonzalez fight he is very systematic in his work ethic.
His timing was exceptional.
Yea what a great right hand like old saying goes timing beats speed and he proved it against Zab.Originally Posted by eagle
I agree with that but KT is still right up there.Originally Posted by Lyle
Good to know Tszyu is slowly redeeming his reputation.
In his 2 hardest fights he quit and was brutally KOed that hurts his credential not just a fighter,.. but also as a person.
I think Hatton broke his spirit.
I still like his fighting style.
Who questioned him as a fighter and person? No one who knows anything about boxing......Originally Posted by Pacstraightleft
I'm just so sad he didn't come back, even though I'm a Hatton maniac I was still quite surprised that Ricky beat him, even though Tszyu was taylor made for ricky, if they faught 5 times Kostya still would have beaten Rick 4 times out of five, and in my mind he's still the greatest 140 fighter that lived. His right cross is the best I've seen and the way he times punches is unique, its an art form. Brutality has never looked more beautiful than the right cross that sent Zab Judah into the chicken dimension.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
timing is important for any fighter to shine. Tszyu was amateur standout. was respected by all . great person and one hell of a fighter. Tszyu was one of the best Jr Welterweight of all time., if not the best.
I think its important to note that he is one of the most ducked fighters of his time also.
Make that of ALL time my manOriginally Posted by eagle

It would have been good watching if he could have fought mosely and DLH in the late 90's or PBF when he was at 140. Might not have won but would have been a hell of a fight.Originally Posted by yoitsdan
Absolutely - what a great fighter and always good to watch. I did read somewhere recently (sorry I can't remember where) that the key to Tszyu's power was in his timing rather than being a real heavy hitter/big puncher. But I also remember after many of his fights his opponents would often comment on the power Tszyu had. He has actually been training lately and put on a "do" at his gym in Sydney. He sparred some youngsters and fans and was in quite good shape. It had some people suggesting a possible comeback. No-one has heard anything official of course.
“If you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize.” Muhammad Ali.
I'll sign my name on this comment also. Completely agree 100%.Originally Posted by Lords Gym
